NHL DFS DraftKings Ice Picks November 19th, 2019

Joel Dorcas |November 19th, 2019

A full schedule awaits us tonight in the NHL. We have trimmed down the mega slate and we will try to ride the coattails of a few teams that are in really good form of late. The Florida Panthers host the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa and Detroit tangle in the Motor City and the red-hot Chicago Blackhawks host the Carolina Hurricanes in what should be a game with lots of scoring chances. Let’s sharpen the skates and go for some Ice Picks!

CORE MUST-HAVES ⭐

Aleksander Barkov C FLA $7,700

It’s probably too early in the season to award the Panthers as the Southern Belts’ best club, but there is no denying that Florida is for real. The Panthers are winners of three of their last four games and have been involved in games going over the total in seven of the last 10. They are averaging 3.7 goals per game and the powerplay is hitting at a 34.38% clip over the last 10 games. Their opponent, the Philadelphia Flyers are playing well, 5-1-3 in the last nine, but haven’t won a game in three straight. They come into this game as the eighth-ranked team in goals against per game at 2.80. Barkov continues to be the straw that stirs the drink for the Panthers. He has 3G, 3A, 26 shots in his last five. He is also getting heavy minutes averaging nearly 23 minutes per game.

Patrick Kane W CHI $8,000

Might as well continue to put our faith in the incredibly talented Patty Kane. A home game with a team that has reeled off four straight victories potting at least four goals in each, as well as tallying at least five in three of the four games. Kane has 10 points(6 G, 4A) and 17 shots in his last five games.

Teuvo Teravainen W CAR $6,300

Even with the slight edge to the Hawks, the Canes are also very much in play tonight. They rank first in the NHL according to naturalstattrick.com in Corsi For % at a 54.41. The Blackhawks give up the sixth most Corsi against with 974. Corsi is a metric that calculates shot volume-any shot attempt; goals, shots on net, missed shots and blocked shots. Teravainen has a goal, six assists, and 17 shots on net in his last five games.

VALUE PLAYS

Morgan Frost W PHI $2,500

This could be a really popular play or it could go way under the radar. Morgan Frost gets his first crack with the pros tonight in Florida. The twenty-year-old first-round draft pick is slated to play center on the first unit of forwards between wingers Claude Giroux and Travis Konecny. Even though the Panthers are rolling along nicely of late they are still the 28th ranked club in terms of goals against per game (3.55).

Robby Fabbri W DET $3,900

The Detroit Red Wings made a little splash recently in the acquisition of 2014 21st overall draft pick Robby Fabbri. Fabbri will get plenty of opportunities with the Wings as he is getting better minutes and he is featured on the first powerplay group with highly touted players Dylan Larkin, Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha. Fabbri six points in his last five games. The Senators rank 20th in goals against per game at a mark of 3.25.

Andrew Shaw W CHI $3,300

Some good value players on the Blackhawks roster tonight. Shaw is listed at center on the first powerplay unit according to dailyfaceoff.com. His stats over the last five aren’t spectacular(3A, 8 shots, 3 blocks) but at such a low price with the chance to get in on some powerplay scoring, Shaw is as good as any other player on the team in the lower tier price range.

STACK ‘EM

  1. Chicago Blackhawks-Kane(W), Shaw(W), Debrincat(W), Strome(W)
  2. Florida Panthers– Barkov(C), Hoffman(W), Dadonov(W), Yandle(D)
  3. Detroit Red Wings-Fabbri(W), Larkin(C), Bertuzzi(W), Mantha(W)

*All prices listed are from DraftKings*

Good luck to everyone tonight, keep grinding out those lineups!
