Joel Dorcas |November 9th, 2019

Welcome into another edition of Ice Picks. Tonight we have nine games on the evening docket. Plenty of games with an implied total of 6.5 will be where we focus our attention on. Be sure to monitor the following matchups: Los Angeles at Montreal, Carolina at Ottawa, Philadelphia at Toronto, Vegas at Washington and Chicago at Pittsburgh. Let’s jump right to it and make some ice picks!

CORE MUST-HAVES ⭐

Patrick Kane W CHI $7,000

Hawks, Penguins is matching up to be a high-event contest. Chicago has managed to find the back of the net 13 times in their previous four games. Kane is leading the way in scoring, as he usually does, and at this price, he can be leaned upon to provide a good return. Kane has seven points(2G, 5A) over a four-game point streak. The Penguins who have been good defensively this season(2.63 GAA/9th), have surrendered 11 goals in their last three games.

Shea Weber D MTL $5,800

Webber and the Montreal Canadiens will play host to the L.A. Kings who are the league’s last-ranked team in terms of goals against per game with a GAA of  3.94. Montreal has scored 22 times in their last 6 games. Shea Webber has had a great season in the early-going averaging 11.2 DK pts per contest. He gets a boat-load of minutes and gets plenty of time on the power-play as well. The numbers across the board are great for Shea over his last five, two goals, three assists, 12 shots, and 12 blocks.

Sebastian Aho C CAR $6,900

Aho has finally regained his form from a year ago when he tore up the league for 30 goals and 53 assists. He has poped five goals and five assists in the last 10 games. The Ottawa Senators have sprinkled in some victories in their last ten as they have scraped together four wins. The defensive issues still linger as they have given up 31 during the stretch. Aho is the offensive leader amongst Cane forwards and will be leaned upon to get Carolina back on track, they also have four wins over the course of their last 10.

VALUE PLAYS

Duncan Keith D CHI $4,100

With Chicago in the midst of regaining their offensive form, we are able to find good value plays up and down the lineup. How about veteran Duncan Keith. Keith has put up four points in his last four games, he is also filling the shot and blocks columns, 11 and nine respectively. All toll, Keith has registered at least 12 DK pts in five straight outings.

Dmitry Orlov D WAS $3,300

Orlov is purely someone we can plug in to save at other positions. We also want to get as many Capital players as possible due to the fact that they are still scorching hot right now(9-0-1/ at least four goals scored in all but one game). Orlov averages just over 21 minutes of ice time per game and has decent overall numbers for the season,;1G, 7A, 21 SOG, 23 BS in 17 games played.

Jared McCann W PIT $3,800

McCann is coming off a great performance in the Thursday night comeback victory over the NY Islanders. He figured in on every goal notching either a goal or an assist to send the game to overtime. McCann is slated to skate amongst the now healthy Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust which will give the Penguins some much-needed depth after a rash of injuries ravaged the team for the better part of the season. The Blackhawks rank 16th in the NHL in goals allowed per game at 3.00.

STACK ‘EM

  1. Chicago Blackhawks-Kane(W), Keith(D), Debrincat(W), Toews(C)
  2. Washington Capitals-Ovechkin(W), Orlov(D), Wilson(W), Kuznetsov(C)
  3. Montreal Canadiens-Weber(D), Danault(C), Domi(C), Gallagher(W)

*All prices listed are from DraftKings*

Good luck to everyone tonight, keep grinding out those lineups!
