NFL DFS: GPP Plays, Game Stacks, and Dart Throws for Week 7

Big bucks time! Differentiating yourself from your opponents is one of the biggest parts of DFS.  I’ve gone ahead and highlighted some pivots and lower-owned plays I like today that will hopefully turn your screens green.

Let’s start by saying, any picks used or mentioned for cash games can be played in tournaments, including the “Other Options.” That’s an important thing to know and can sometimes get confusing when the two are discussed separately. For that reason, I’ve tried to avoid mentioning my cash game plays for this article.

There’s merit to using or fading individual players in tournaments, whether it be ownership expectations, bust potential, etc. But, as I said earlier, just about all of the cash game plays are viable for tournaments. If you’d like to see Cash Game Plays, you can check that out here. With that said, let’s get to some other picks for tournaments. Getting a mixture of popular and lower-owned players could be the best way to go. Let’s go for the big bucks. Here are my favorite GPP Plays, Game Stacks, and Dart Throws for Week 7.

Quarterback

I would be doing you a disservice if I only mentioned a couple of quarterbacks. There are a lot of different spots to like. You can play quite a few of them, depending on how you want your stacks to look. Here is a list of guys to consider: Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert, Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, Teddy Bridgewater, and Gardner Minshew

Running Back

Ezekiel Elliott ($7,800 DK, $9,500 FD)

Does no one want to roster Zeke after his two-fumble performance on Monday Night Football? Okay, I’m in. Tony Pollard is a solid running back, but he’s not threatening Zeke for major opportunities anytime soon, and I have a hard time believing Zeke’s recent case of fumblitis is going to be a theme moving forward. The Cowboys’ stud is a consistent volume monster, and if the Cowboys are smart, they’ll lean heavily on him with Andy Dalton under center. Zeke also lines up as a solid pivot away from the chalky Alvin Kamara, who is similarly priced on both sites.

Kenyan Drake ($4,800 DK, $6,000 FD)

Much of the focus from the game between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks are on the passing. Chris Carson seems to be getting some ownership, but the ball carrier on the other side of the game will be less popular. Drake broke out of his funk last week, racking up 164 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. The Seahawks are much better against the run than the pass. However, if the Cardinals put up some points, Drake could easily get some red zone usage and score a couple of touchdowns. Let’s use him and run it back with some Seattle wide receivers as a correlation stack.

Other Options: Todd Gurley, Josh Jacobs, Ronald Jones, Joshua Kelley, Mike Davis, and Cash Game RB

Wide Receiver

Mike Williams ($4,700 DK, $5,900 FD)

Williams is a freakishly talented receiver. He makes insane catches without thought of how his body might feel after the fact. With the return of Keenan Allen, many people will cross Williams off their list and chalk his big Week 5 game up to “availability.” I think this is where we could get sneaky and play a Chargers double stack with either Allen or Hunter Henry, or make the pivot to Williams by himself. The Jacksonville Jaguars are dead last in DVOA against the pass, so the matchup is certainly favorable.

DJ Chark ($5,500 DK, $6,500 FD)

The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense is pretty sturdy overall but sits in the middle of the pack with a 6.8 percent DVOA against the pass. I think the Chargers come out and control this game from start to finish, but Gardner Minshew will have to play from behind in the second half, which will lead to fantasy points. Chark is a solid low-owned bring back option.

Other Options: Marvin Jones, Brandin Cooks, Chris Godwin, Stefon Diggs, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, any Cash Game WR

Tight End

Noah Fant ($4,800 DK, $6,000 FD)

No one wants to touch this game with the frigid cold weather and snow. On top of that, people don’t know what to expect from Fant, returning from injury. However, he’s received no fewer than five targets in the games he has played and is one of the few explosive threats at the tight end position this week. I could see Drew Lock hitting him for some easy completions and Fant getting a touchdown or two in a game the Denver Broncos should be playing from behind.

James O’Shaughnessy ($2,600 DK, $4,300 FD)

He’s cheap and will be the main tight end in Jacksonville’s offense with Tyler Eifert ruled out for this game. Eifert is second on the team in red-zone targets, so maybe O’Shaughnessy steps right in and gets some decent looks from Minshew.

Other Options: Darren Fells, T.J. Hockenson, Darren Waller, Greg Olsen, Jared Cook, any Cash Game TE

Game Stacks

HOU vs. GB

ARI vs. SEA

ATL vs. DET

LAC vs. JAC

Dart Throws

RB – AJ Dillon ($4,000 DK, $4,500 FD)

Jamaal Williams is the chalky play, but Dillon is the under-the-radar pivot. Granted it was a blowout loss last week, but Dillon got some action, carrying the ball five times for 31 yards (6.2 YPC). I wouldn’t spend all of your money on it, but there’s an outside chance the rookie gets a decent amount of work, along with some goal-line carries.

WR – Gabriel Davis ($3,600 DK, $4,800 FD)

Bills’ starting wideout John Brown has been ruled out of this matchup against the lowly New York Jets. In steps Davis. When Brown was out in Week 5 against Tennessee, Davis grabbed five catches for 58 yards on nine targets. When Brown missed Week 3, Davis hauled in four catches for 81 yards on four targets. Josh Allen is certainly not afraid to air it out. Davis has shown big-play ability and could be a complete smash at this price.

TE – Drew Sample ($3,200 DK, $4,700 FD)

Haven’t heard much from Sample since the game he had against the team he’ll take on this week, the Cleveland Browns. In that game, Sample had seven catches for 45 yards on nine targets. Before C.J. Uzomah tore his Achilles, he went four for 42 with a touchdown on six targets in the same game. The Browns sit bottom-third in the NFL in catches, and DK points allowed to tight ends. This could become an attacking point for Zac Taylor’s offense. It wouldn’t shock me to see Sample get more involved again.

Good luck this week, and let’s win some cash!
