New York Giants’ 2020 Schedule Announced

The NFL released its 2020 schedule Thursday night. The season is scheduled to start on Sept. 10 with Week 1 concluding on Sept. 14.

The New York Giants will start their season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football on Sept. 14. Their first road game will be against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 20.

“I’ll tell you what, when you get the schedule, it definitely does give you a little surge of energy,” Giants head coach Joe Judge said. “It stimulates a lot of conversation between all areas of the organization — support staff, coaching staff — and you start preparing immediately for it.”

Judge added, “The No. 1 positive is we’re getting ready to play football, so that’s the biggest thing. Once you get the schedule, it starts moving a little bit faster in your mind in terms of preparing for what’s in front of you. The thing we were waiting to see a little bit on was how some of the cross-country games played out. That ties in a little bit to how you plan out a lot of your travel for the year, which is tied to how you practice those weeks. You start mapping out how you’re going to go about each week by week through the season.”

In Week 8, the Giants face off against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. It’s the first time in the 51-year history of Monday Night Football that the Giants have played two MNF games in one season.

The Giants have the seventh-easiest schedule in the league based on combined 2019  winning percentages. The toughest part of Big Blue’s schedule is the final four weeks of the season. During that time, they have a trip to Seattle, some home games, and a trip to Baltimore. Weeks 3 through 8 are also tough with trips to Los Angeles, Dallas, and Philadelphia.

Realistically, the Giants should be expected to produce roughly five wins in the 2020 season.
