NBA Games to Watch: Week 4

When the eighth week (Dec. 5 to 11) of the NBA season kicks off, each team will have finished the first quarter of their season. Without a doubt, time has flown by. Before you know it, February’s All-Star Game will be here. Thus, we should appreciate each NBA week that is provided for us.

Let us now explore some of the upcoming games that are worthy of our time.

Dec. 5: Houston Rockets vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Are the Rockets going to prepare some sort of reunion party when they host the Sixers? Daryl Morey, James Harden, Montrezl Harrell, Danuel House Jr., and P.J. Tucker are some of the personnel who used to work in Houston. You can even add De’Anthony Melton’s name to that exclusive list; he was originally drafted by the Rockets before being traded away back in 2018.

Dec. 6: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Lakers

While this game might be dubbed the “LeBron James versus his hometown” game, there are other things to take note of. The Lakers are striking the right chords at the right time, tallying a winning record over their last several games and giving their fans some hope. Despite the social media circus surrounding the squad, the players have silently started to perform better.

Dec. 7: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Ja Morant versus Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be the primary reason to watch this game. Both players rank in the top ten in scoring and are averaging more than 28 points per game. Even their respective teams are evenly matched. The Grizzlies and the Thunder are hovering in the 115 to 116 points per game area of the scoring charts. The Grizzlies already won the first meeting. Are the Thunder going to strike back?

Dec. 9: Dallas Mavericks vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Fans have to enjoy this one. That “MVP versus MVP” type of scenario can be expected from this game. This will be the last meeting between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic in the regular season. The Bucks won the first game, but only because Grayson Allen couldn’t miss from three-point land. Allen hit seven three-pointers on his way to scoring 25 unexpected points.

Dec. 10: Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics

The rematch of the NBA Finals is upon us. Maybe this will be a thrilling one, even if there are big changes in both teams’ lineups. The Warriors lost key players in Gary Payton II and Damion Lee while the Celtics added Malcolm Brogdon. Furthermore, the Warriors have started the season slower than expected while the Celtics are No. 1 in the East.
