Buckle up for what should be one of basketball’s most volatile periods of the year. We have the men’s NCAA tournament keeping us busy while we monitor the ever-changing landscape of the NBA standings. As if those two were not enough, big names in the women’s NCAA tournament are captivating us, too.
Long story short, there are a lot of games to check out.
We humbly ask you to forget the NCAA for a few minutes as we try to uncover the best NBA games for the week.
April 1: Boston Celtics at Charlotte Hornets
We can’t believe that it has been four months since the first matchup between these two teams. That was a lifetime ago, so you probably forgot that Jrue Holiday missed two crunch-time free throws, allowing LaMelo Ball to tie the game. The Celtics, of course, went on to lose in overtime and will now have to avenge that loss.
April 1 and 7: Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Did the Pelicans benefit from an easy schedule over the past few weeks or are they the real deal now? Their recent success and the “rebirth” of Zion Williamson make this game worth following. We should also thank the NBA schedule-makers because it is such a blessing to watch the Suns and Pelicans meet twice this week.
I’ve gone back and forth on what seed would be the best for the Pelicans.
2 things you want to avoid, the play in & the Nuggets. So whatever that seed is, that’s the best option.
But in order to avoid the play in, you HAVE to take care of business tonight

April 2 and 5: Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors
Last week, the Mavericks faced the Sacramento Kings twice. This week, they have two matchups against the Warriors. That’s a tough stretch of games, but Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving seem to be clicking at the right time. With the postseason just around the corner, the Dallas duo hope to bring that momentum deep into the NBA Playoffs.
April 4: Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets
A 10-game winning streak recently saw the Rockets gain some traction, and they almost caught up with the Warriors, who have been holding onto that last Play-In Tournament spot. This race, by the way, was made more exciting because of what Tari Eason did on social media. Eason said that the Warriors are “not liking this” when talking about Houston’s proximity to Golden State in the standings.
Paul Pierce questions whether the Rockets' time to flip the script on the Warriors is for this year 🤔

April 7: Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers
We were robbed of the ultimate highlight of the season. The “What Could Have Been” Dunk of the Year honors go out to Anthony Edwards after he elevated and stuffed one over Anthony Davis. It was a missed dunk, unfortunately, but what’s stopping Edwards from attempting another slam next time they meet? We will now have to find out.
