NBA Week 15: Games to Watch

NBA Games to Watch: Week 4

Exciting times are coming our way. The captains and the starters for the NBA All-Star Game will be announced this week. This time last year, we were arguing about Andrew Wiggins. Did he really deserve to be a starter? Well, we might have the same argument again this year but maybe for another player. Before we dwell on that, let’s preview some of the best games in the upcoming week.

Jan. 23: Orlando Magic vs. Boston Celtics

This should be a fun one. The Magic have a 2-1 lead so far in the season series and every game has been a close one. No team has won by more than eight points. If someone told you before the start of the season that Orlando’s games against the Celtics would be competitive, you’d be laughing at that person.

Jan. 24: Third meeting between L.A.’s teams

Let’s hope this one is entertaining and nail-biting because the next time these teams meet will be in April. That’s too long a wait for those who like to follow this rivalry. The Lakers cannot wait for this matchup where they will be facing the Clippers at the right time. The Clippers are in a slump right now while the Lakers are just starting to turn their season around after a tumultuous start.

Jan. 25: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets

Joel Embiid and James Harden did not play in the first meeting, so this game automatically becomes intriguing if both of them see action. Another thing to keep in mind is how the crowd will react. When asked about the crowd’s reaction last time, Ben Simmons said that he expected the boos to be louder. Fans know about this for sure and will be looking to increase the volume of their boos.

Jan. 25: Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Hopefully, Stephen Curry won’t be resting and will finally face Ja Morant. Curry missed the first meeting and we did not get to see both point guards battle each other. Curry’s presence should terrify the Grizzlies and force them to prepare better. Maybe the game will be more peaceful now. Their last meeting was a “technical foul fest” which showed us how emotional or angry these guys can get whenever they play each other.

Jan. 28: Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers

There’s a reason why the NBA is one of the most-watched leagues. Year after year, heroes are born and those early pioneers of the game either played for the Celtics or the Lakers. This rivalry won’t be fading away, and with players like Jayson Tatum and LeBron James still playing, a game between the Celtics and the Lakers will always have that “must-see” description attached to it.
