NBA Week 14: Unmissable Games

Next week (January 17 to 23) is going to be a fun week, especially for the NBA Fantasy crowd. Players know that All-Star Game voting is ongoing right now which means they’ll be in “flex mode”. A little pep in their step will be noticeable on the court as they try to grab voters’ attention. Expect a little more effort when they go for that extra dunk, three-pointer, or block. Let’s see some of the possible All-Star performances for the week.

Be sure to check out all of our NBA coverage.

January 17: Early Game

Every starter of the Los Angeles Clippers squad will have to play like All-Stars in their game against the Indiana Pacers. This will be the last home game for the Clippers before they embark on a long, hectic trip. A trip that requires them to play eight games in 13 days will end in Indiana of all places where they’ll face the Pacers again. Playing without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will make this trip a little more challenging.

January 17: Late Game

The Phoenix Suns have beaten the San Antonio Spurs twice already this season with both games ending in 4-point victories. Can the Spurs reverse the curse and win this time? It will depend on Dejounte Murray who is having a stellar season. Murray can use this game as a stepping stone to make sure he gets the All-Star nod. Through 36 games, Murray is averaging 18 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Vote for this guy already.

January 17: Latest Game

The Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Utah Jazz could be considered an All-Star Game. Even if Anthony Davis is ruled out with an injury, there could be up to five players in this game that are All-Star worthy. It will be the first meeting between both squads this season and there’s a big chance Dwyane Wade will be sitting on the sidelines to watch the action. Wade is part-owner of the Jazz and is best friends with LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Business comes first so Wade has to root for his team though.

January 19

The game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Memphis Grizzlies just got interesting. Maybe this game wouldn’t be on your radar a year ago but thanks to Ja Morant and his ever-growing list of highlights, fans are now anxious to see how he performs against high-caliber teams. Can fans expect an All-Star performance from Morant? Coach Taylor Jenkins, who used to be an assistant for the Bucks, can probably help in that department.

January 23

Aside from the multiple All-Star players that will be present in the Jazz and Golden State Warriors game, a battle for the number one spot in the Western Conference will be at stake. The Jazz lost the first meeting and they might as well throw everything they learned in that game away because the Warriors have Klay Thompson now. The Warriors are different and better once Thompson starts heating up.

Time to Vote

Basketball fans around the globe will be cramming to send in their votes for the upcoming All-Star Game. They know the voting deadline is midnight, January 22, and the question “Who should be in the All-Star Game?” will be flashing inside their heads. A question that sounds easy to answer at first but quite difficult when you’re actually online filling up the ballot.
