NASCAR Cup Series DFS: FireKeepers Casino 400

Last week’s race at New Hampshire was dominated by Brad Keselowski and he ultimately ended up winning the race. This week the NASCAR Cup Series heads up north to Michigan International Speedway. This weekend will feature a Cup Series doubleheader. There will be two races with both races being 312 miles long. First, we will kick things off with Saturday’s cup race. The starting lineup was determined by a random draw. Let’s jump right into my top drivers for Saturday’s FireKeepers Casino 400.

Dominator

Joey Logano ($9,700 DK and $11,400 FD)

Logano has started on the front row a couple of times this year. In those races, he struggled and didn’t end up leading a lot of laps. That will change this week. He is very good at Michigan. In his last six races, he has had four top tens and one win. He also led 216 laps in those races. Logano will likely be highly owned but hopefully due to his struggles recently people will avoid him. Look for Logano to dominate and contend for the win this week.

Mid Value

Erik Jones ($8,800 DK and $10,000 FD)

Jones is going to have a lot to prove the rest of the year. Joe Gibbs Racing just broke the news Thursday night that Christopher Bell was taking his ride. Jones has had some solid runs at his hometown track. He finished third at Michigan back in 2017. Jones is on the outside of the playoffs and really needs a win to lock himself into the playoffs. He is my darkhorse to win one of the Michigan races this weekend and with him starting 23rd look for him to rack up the Fantasy points on Saturday.

William Byron ($8,200 DK and $8,600 FD)

Byron is another driver on the bubble for the playoffs. A win would go a long way but he needs a solid top ten finish. He has finished 10th and 11th in the last two races. Last August at Michigan Byron finished 8th. A top ten would be perfect for Byron. With him starting 19th that would put him in line to score 40 plus fantasy points. Look for Byron to try to build a gap between himself and others on the bubble with a strong finish top ten on Saturday.

Value

Ryan Preece ($5,800 DK and $4,500 FD)

Preece finally put together a full race last weekend. He was coming off one of the scariest wrecks of the season last week at Kansas. Last weekend at New Hampshire he started 30th and finished 16th. That was good for 42 fantasy points. With him starting 35th on Saturday he’s almost a must-play this week. Preece also has a good track record in only two races at Michigan. He finished in 25th and seventh in those two races. Look for him to contend for another top 20 on Saturday.
