The MXGP season has hit Jorge Prado‘s neck of the woods in Spain for round 13 of the year. Jeffery Herlings looked to keep a stranglehold on the MXGP Points lead over Romain Febvre and Tim Gajser. While Maxime Renaux meanwhile, keeps on trucking en route to a likely MX2 World Championship. Just five rounds in Italy remain for the season, with the premier class title picture seemingly changing by the moto, who could capitalize?

MX2 Class
Moto 1
Most of the finishing order would be decided in the early moments of the Moto. Tom Vialle opening things up once again with a holeshot with championship front runners Mattia Guadagnini and Renaux not far back. Renaux got by the Italian KTM rider early on for the second spot.
While Renaux was once again on pace for another strong outing, his Monster Yamaha teammate Jago Geerts would not share that luck. The Belgian wrecked out of fourth on lap six and ended up finishing 13th in this Moto. Going down for a second time later on. Vialle would, however, continue his winning ways, with his 10th Moto win of the year.
Moto 2
Another two-for-two holeshot day for Vialle once again here in Spain. Geerts who had a miserable Moto 1, ended up getting by Vialle straight up for the lead on the opening lap. Renaux, with a third-place start, slowly but surely made his way up to Geerts, before passing him for the lead, Moto win, and Grand Prix win. What helped the cause was Vialle going down trying to pass Geerts for second, but Renaux had the tiebreaker in any case. This was Moto win seven, and Grand Prix win number four for the Frenchman.

MXGP Class
Moto 1
Prado brought the Spanish crowd to their feet as he picked up what was roughly his millionth holeshot of the season. It feels like a broken record, but Prado has not been able to seal the deal in these Motos, and this was no different. Febvre after about eight laps in second got by the home country hero after a bobble going into a roller section.
Herlings all the meanwhile after a rough start, turned on the afterburners down the stretch. The point leader in the final half of the Moto, stormed his way up into the top three, blitzing by the likes of Jeremy Seewer and Gajser in the process. Prado, unfortunately, could not respond to Febvre, as the 2015 World Champion picked up the opening Moto win.
Moto 2
Another day, another moto, another Prado holeshot, it is absurd how good he is at starts this year. Febvre, off a strong Moto win, hit the deck almost right away in the third corner. The Monster Kawasaki rider was scored fifth to last on the opening lap, virtually ending his Grand Prix win hopes not even five minutes in. Playing the role of Febvre in this Moto would be Herlings, blasting by Prado on lap 10 to, later on, win the Moto and Grand Prix. Prado would however end up second overall at his home GP.
