Monday Night DFS: Week 12

Monday Night DFS: Week 12

After a wild Sunday filled with upsets and crazy quarterback play, it’s time for Monday Night Football. The Philadelphia Eagles need a statement win this week if they want to make a serious playoff push after struggling this season on both sides of the ball. The good news is they still find themselves right in the middle of the NFC East battle. The bad news is they get a tough matchup against one of the best teams in the NFC. They will host MVP candidate Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. Let’s jump right into the top DFS players in this matchup.

DraftKings Captain

Jalen Reagor (DK Captain $8,700 | FD $9,500)
Reagor hasn’t had a huge game this season but he has been solid when he’s played. This week he goes up against the Seahawks, who have one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL, having allowed a total of 13 touchdowns to wide receivers this season. They also give up an average of 259 receiving yards to wide receivers alone. If Reagor’s going to have himself a big game this season, this is the week to do it. In the Captain slot on DraftKings, he is cheap enough to allow plenty of flexibility to afford all the top players on the slate.

FanDuel MVP

Russell Wilson (DK $12,600 | FD $16,500)
Wilson has struggled lately compared to what he was doing at the beginning of the season. The biggest reason for his struggles has been the turnovers; he has had nine total in just the last three games. In terms of fantasy, those can kill a player’s fantasy points. The good news for Wilson is that the Eagles defense has only forced 11 turnovers this season, only three of which were interceptions. They allow an average of 233 passing yards and with the Seahawks defense, this game should be a shootout. Look for Wilson to have another big game and continue his MVP campaign.

Utility Players

Tyler Lockett (DK $9,600 | FD $13,000)
The Eagles have had success this year with stopping team’s top outside receiver. If they can slow down DK Metcalf, Wilson will be forced to look Lockett’s way most of the game, and he gets a solid matchup against the Eagles secondary. They have allowed seven receiving touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns to receivers so far this season. Lockett has eight touchdowns in 2020 with five of those being in primetime. He should add to that total and continue to excel under the lights.

Jalen Hurts (DK $7,200 | FD $6,500)
This is a dart throw but the reports in practice are that Hurts should see significant snaps after getting first-team reps all week. At this price, if he gets some opportunities to throw and run he should provide solid value. Carson Wentz could also be benched if he continues to play poorly. He leads the league in turnovers this season, and with many fans calling for Hurts if Wentz struggles at the start, Doug Pederson might just pull the trigger. However the game script turns out, Hurts will likely have his best game of the season on Monday night.
