This week, Monday night football features two teams that are right in the middle of the NFC wild-card picture. It’s also a rematch between Tom Brady and Jared Goff who played in Super Bowl LIII. Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against Goff and the Los Angeles Rams in primetime. Both teams are still in play for first place in their division as well. This is a big game for both teams and should be a very good Monday night game. Let’s take a look at the top players in this NFC showdown.
DraftKings Captain
Darrell Henderson Jr. (DK Captain $8,700 | FD $10,500)
The Rams offense revolves around the run game. However, it is tough to pick which running back is going to score the fantasy points week in and week out. It’s a running back by committee approach and all three running backs will get work every game. The good news for Henderson is that he does a little bit of everything. His salary at the Captain spot is cheap enough to allow plenty of salary for the top-priced players. Look for Henderson to get things going early and hopefully handle most of the snaps.
FanDuel MVP
Tom Brady (DK $11,000 | FD $16,000)
Brady after a terrible showing on Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints had a huge game last week against the Carolina Panthers. He put up 341 passing yards and four total touchdowns in that game. This week he gets a tough matchup. The Rams have a very good pass defense but Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. He has all of his weapons and will likely be one of the top scorers in this slate. Look for Brady to keep the Buccaneers offense rolling tonight.
Utility Players
Ryan Succop (DK $4,000 | FD $9,000)
Succop has been automatic since week four. He has only missed two field goals this season and hasn’t missed in six games. He did miss an extra point but outside of that, he’s been excellent. This game should be a lower scoring game and that favors kickers in showdown slates. The Rams have a very good defense and will be able to stall out some of the Buccaneer’s drives. Look for Succop to see some field goal opportunities and be one of the better values on the slate.
Cooper Kupp (DK $9,200 | FD $12,000)
Kupp is usually consistent with scoring fantasy points, especially on DraftKings. He averages eight targets per game and an average of 64 yards per game. He has scored double digits on Draftkings in every game this season with the exception of two. Kupp is due for a touchdown as he has not scored since week four. His biggest fantasy downfall this season has been that he has only scored two touchdowns. The good news for Cupp is he’s seen six red-zone targets since week four. Look for Kupp to snap his streak of no touchdowns and find the end zone in this game.
