MLB DFS September 8: Kyle Seager

Today we are running through the three-game slate for the 9 p.m. games on DraftKings. Let’s take a look at what we have to work with and make some money for MLB DFS for September 8: The Late Show Edition

Pitchers

Mike Clevinger ($9,700)

He put up a quality start in his debut with the San Diego Padres since being traded. The strikeouts were not there but they should be tonight. Clevinger is facing the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park. On the road, the Rockies have scored 80 runs in 20 games. That is not ideal for them. In his two starts before leaving Cleveland Clevinger put up 16.1 and 20.6 points respectively. Count on Sunshine to pitch well tonight with plenty of run support as the Padres will be facing Chi Chi Gonzalez.

Luke Weaver ($6,900)

Yes, I know he is facing the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was the Streamer of the Week though so he has to pitch well right? As outlined in that article, Weaver has been pretty good and much better than his horrendous 7.44 ERA would indicate. If you are looking for a cheaper option to go long with Clevinger or Walker Buehler then Weaver is the way to go.

Hitters

Kyle Seager ($5,100)

He is facing righty Logan Webb tonight. Seager is five for his last 13 with three HBPs and three walks. He has also hit a HR in each of his last two games. Although San Francisco is a tough place to hit, Seager has a .907 OPS vs righties this season. He should be good for a hit or two and maybe he will put one in McCovey Cove.

Trent Grisham ($5,000)

Grisham has been on fire lately with nine hits in his last four games. While he hasn’t hit a HR since Aug. 30, he has pop as evidenced by his eight bombs this season. Grisham has stolen a base in each of his last two games as well. The power-speed combo is there. He is a player that can get you points from anywhere. Roll with the hot bat.

David Peralta ($3,200)

Here is a little value play. At this price, you should have Peralta in your lineup. He hit a HR yesterday in San Francisco and may be finding his stroke. Working on a three-game hitting streak now, he can be a contrarian play tonight facing off against Buehler.
