MLB DFS Quick Picks for 5/21

Welcome to a beautiful Saturday for baseball as we will be giving you some quick picks for MLB DFS. For today, let’s look at the 7:05 p.m. EDT slate, which features six games. Here are some pitchers, big poppers, and stacks for our DraftKings lineups.

Pitchers

Justin Verlander ($10,300) vs. Texas Rangers

Verlander is a lock, as long as you are willing to pay up for him. If you do, you will just have to find some cheap options for the other parts of your lineup. The right-hander has been uber-dominant this season, as he holds a 5-1 record, 1.38 ERA, and 0.68 WHIP, while he has averaged 24.5 DraftKings fantasy points per game. The Rangers don’t have many big bats in their lineup, and Verlander went seven strong while allowing just one run on four hits and no walks with eight punchouts against them on April 28. He has recorded at least five strikeouts in all but one start.

Joe Ryan ($8,800) vs. Kansas City Royals

The rookie right-hander has been dominant in five of his seven starts this season so far. In all but one start, he has surrendered no more than two earned runs, and has struck out at least three and up to nine batters in every game. Ryan shutout the Royals when he faced them in April while giving up just two hits and one walk on five striekouts. The Kansas City lineup hasn’t been all too special this season and Ryan has the stuff to shut them down once again.

Big Boppers

Home Run Call: Hunter Renfroe ($4,700)

Renfroe mashes lefties and has recorded eight hits over his last four games. He has a great matchup against Patrick Corbin who primarly pitches his sinker and slider to right-handed hitter. Renfore destroys both and has a 101 mph exit velocity against sinkers the last few seasons, and only has a 22 percent groundball rate against the pitch. On the season, he has nine homers but hasn’t hit one out since last week. Look for him to get a hold of one in this matchup.

Other options: Carlos Correa ($4,700), Yandy Diaz ($4,900), Keibert Ruiz ($4,600)

Stacks

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Patrick Corbin

Potential options: Christian Yelich ($4,900), Hunter Renfroe ($4,700), Andrew McCutchen ($3,800), Luis Urias ($4,600)

Houston Astros vs. Jon Gray

Potential options: Alex Bregman ($5,100), Michael Brantley ($4,300), Kyle Tucker ($5,300), Jose Siri ($2,500)

Good luck with your MLB DFS lineups.
