MLB DFS October 14: Must-Win Wednesday

Tyler Glasnow

The Houston Astros face elimination tonight, while the Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves in a pretty big 2-0 hole. That means both teams are in must-win mode and will be playing with a bit of urgency. Game 3 of the Dodgers-Atlanta Braves series gets underway at 6:05 p.m. EST while Game 4 of Tampa Bay Rays-Astros starts at 8:40 p.m. EST. Let’s see who we could roll with for DFS in order to win some cash.

Pitcher

Tyler Glasnow ($9,100)

The Astros have scored just five runs over the first three games of this series. They have looked lost at the plate. Glasnow comes in on four days rest after pitching Game 5 of the ALDS against the Yankees on just two days rest. In that game, he went 2.1 scoreless innings. He will obviously go much deeper this time around, especially with the Rays on the brink of eliminating Houston. Tampa Bay will ride him as long as he can go, and he should shut down a struggling Astros lineup.

Hitters

Freddie Freeman ($4,800)

Freeman has been feeling it after an MVP-caliber regular season. He has hit a homer in each of the first two games of this series. There are no signs of him slowing down anytime soon. He does face the left-hander Julio Urias tonight, but that shouldn’t matter the way he has swung the stick.

Corey Seager ($5,200)

Seager was the Dodgers’ top hitter in Game 2 last night as he went 2-4 with a homer, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Even though the Dodgers’ late-comeback effort fell just short, they grabbed some momentum on offense. They could start off hot in Game 3 with Seager picking up where he left off. He started the rally by driving in Mookie Betts on an RBI double. He faces the right-hander Kyle Wright in a platoon matchup and he has mashed righties (1.005 OPS, 11 HR, 30 RBI in 142 AB in 2020).

Randy Arozarena ($4,500)

Surprise, surprise, another multi-hit game for Arozarena last night, his sixth in ten postseason games. In Game 3 last night, he went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, and a run scored. The dude has just raked this postseason and only went hitless in two games which were back-to-back against the Yankees. He will likely bat in the two spot in the Rays’ lineup again with them looking to get to Zack Greinke early.
