MLB DFS August 22: Franmil Reyes

Welcome back to the daily MLB DFS series. As always, you get some pitchers, sluggers, and stacks for today’s slate of games. Let’s dive right in and win some money.

Pitchers:

Randy Dobnak ($8,600)

While the Kansas City Royals have been very good offensively this season, Dobnak has been much better. His 1.42 ERA has been a welcoming surprise to a team that had some questions about its pitching. Dobnak has been the best pitcher for the Minnesota Twins this season, and he should continue that tonight.

Triston McKenzie ($5,400)

The longtime top prospect in the Cleveland Indians system will be making his major league debut tonight against the Detroit Tigers. McKenzie, if he can stay healthy, can be the next great Indians homegrown pitching prospect. Going up against the Tigers is a big plus here as well.

Sluggers:

J.D. Martinez ($5,800)

Martinez returned to the Boston Red Sox lineup and immediately hit a home run. While the Red Sox have been terrible, their offense still remains very lethal and Martinez is a big part of that. Going against Alex Cobb, who has been decent but not great, gives the Red Sox a perfect opportunity to put a lot of runs on the board.

Franmil Reyes ($4,500)

Let’s keep riding this train until it derails. He hit another home run last night and remains to be fairly cheap. With how hot Reyes has been, and factor in the Tigers again, this should be a lock in your lineups.

Stacks:

Houston Astros

The Astros have been hot lately and have reinserted themselves into the playoff picture. They still need their core players to step up, but you cannot argue with the winning as of late.

Washington Nationals

With Max Scherzer on the mound and the Miami Marlins starting to cool off, this is the perfect opportunity to stack the Nationals tonight. Daniel Castano‘s first full season in the bigs has been not great and he is going against a very good Nationals lineup.
