MLB DFS August 20: Quick Pitch

MLB DFS August 20: Dinelson Lamet

Today will be mostly pitchers. A couple of guys who are high-priced, a mid-range guy, and a value. Let’s break it down and make some money for today’s MLB DFS for August 20.

All prices are for DraftKings

Pitchers

Shane Bieber ($10,600)

Yes, he is the highest-priced pitcher on the slate. He is also the most bankable. Bieber has the Cy Young Award wrapped up at this point. He has a 6/54 BB/K rate, has thrown at least six innings every start, and is 4-0. He faces the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight who are abysmal on offense. Lock him in.

Clayton Kershaw ($10,200)

The resurgence is here. The 32-year-old lefty has seen an uptick in his velocity. His fastball is sitting at 91.9 mph (90.4 in 2019, 90.9 in 2018) and he has been touching 94. He has a 2.65 ERA and is facing the Seattle Mariners tonight. Although he is pricy, Kershaw can be locked in.

Mid-Range

Dinelson Lamet ($8,500)

The San Diego Padres are rolling. Lamet has been lights out. This will be his first test outside of the division, but he should be up for the task. The Texas Rangers have been abysmal on offense. They are last in runs scored in the American League (88) and last in home runs (19). Play the young righty from San Diego and just hope Joey Gallo doesn’t get him.

Value

Trevor Williams ($5,600)

While Bieber is a great play, the other side of the matchup gives great value. At this price, and against an anemic offense, Williams is a solid play for cash games especially if you want to stack your lineup with…

San Diego Padres

They are facing Kyle Gibson who, aside from Lance Lynn, has been decent for the Rangers. The Padres are hot though and will rake the big righty. If you can afford it by going with Williams, playing Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Eric Hosmer may be a good idea.

Renato Nunez ($4,200)

He is 6-9 with two HRs against Nathan Eovaldi with a walk and no strikeouts. While that is a small sample size, he is at home in Camden Yards. Nunez will blast one off Eovaldi and even if he doesn’t get to the Boston righty, he will get you points off that awful bullpen.
