Welcome back to our daily DFS series as we get a 12-game main slate tonight. Let’s take a look at some of the best stud and value options for pitchers and hitters.

Pitchers

Stud: Yu Darvish ($11,300)

Darvish has been one of the most dominant pitchers this season and is one of the leaders in the National League Cy Young race. He hasn’t surrendered more than three runs in any start and has struck out 72 to just 11 walks in 56 innings pitched. Today he faces an Indians offense that has struggled this season. They are 10th worst in wOBA (.317) and 11th worst in wRC+ (91).

Value: Deivi Garcia ($6,800)

Garcia has only made three starts so far in his major league career, but he was very good in two of them. The youngster’s last start came against the same Blue Jays he faces today. In that start last week, Garcia went seven strong innings while surrendering two runs, striking out six, and walking none. He was able to pick up his very first major league win and threw 95 pitches for the second straight start. The Blue Jays offense has the eighth-worst wOBA (.309) and sixth-highest strikeout rate (25.1%) this season.

Hitters

Stud: Anthony Rendon ($5,400)

Rendon has driven in six runs over his last four games and is hitting .291/.434/.530 with eight homers, 21 runs scored, and 25 RBIs across 168 plate appearances on the season. In his career against Madison Bumgarner, he has gone 5-for-12 with two doubles. MadBum missed four starts because of a back injury, and other than that has struggled with a 7.52 ERA and 1.56 WHIP on the season.

Value: Whit Merrifield ($4,800)

Over his last six games, Merrifield has had five multi-hit games. Over those six games, he has mashed two homers, driven in and scored seven runs. On the season he is hitting .273/.327/.464 in 211 plate appearances. Merrifield also has a good matchup today against Matthew Boyd who he has gone 20-for-39 against with seven doubles, a triple, and eight RBIs in his career.
