This afternoon, some disturbing news broke that the Mets had two members of their organization test positive for COVID-19.
The positives covered one player and one staffer. The player and staffer have been placed in isolation in Miami. The team will remain in South Florida until further notice.
The Mets in general had been very cautious about their protocols and had been adhering very well in perspective to the rest of the league.
As a result of the positive, Thursday’s game against the Marlins has been postponed.
Additionally, the Subway Series against the Yankees that was slated to take place from Friday through Sunday is to be postponed, according to league sources.
Since opening weekend, MLB has had just one day in which all 30 teams have played. Every other day featured a postponement with the outbreaks in the Cardinals, Marlins, Reds, and Mets organizations.
