Just when things could not get worse for Manchester United, it did. After another terrible performance, they suffered another disappointing and humiliating loss. As a result of their recent setback, the club is out of the FA Cup. That’s now two tournaments this season where Manchester United has exited in humiliation. At the moment, nothing is going right for the club.
The team suffers a serious lack of leadership, vision, direction, motivation, and passion. They are failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities, their biggest reason for elimination of the FA Cup courtesy of Middlesbrough. It’s quite clear that since the sacking of Ole Gunnar Sokskjær, very little to nothing has changed. At this point, there are no excuses whatsoever for Man United and the club remains far from being a good team.
Man United’s time may be over
Later this month, Man United will complete in the Champions League Round of 16 against Atlético Madrid. Due to the current state that the club is in, it is safe to say that Atlético is the overwhelming favorite. The disappointing results of late point to Man United looking far from ready for the Round of 16. However, if time has not run out, it’s certainly close as Man United takes on Atlético in less than 20 days. The club’s title drought is going into its fifth year and it doesn’t look like it’s ending any time soon.
It is not normal for a club like Manchester United to have talent and fail to impress. In this case, it is embarrassing to have nearly half a billion dollars worth of talent, and have little to no success. It is not just the poor results on the pitch; the failure also goes to management (as well as ownership). At the end of the day it is a team failure, not an individual one.
