The Detroit Lions announced that they have come to terms with free-agent tight end Logan Thomas. Contract details have not yet been disclosed.
Thomas has spent the past two seasons playing for the Bills. With Buffalo, Thomas played in 24 games, including 5 starts. He recorded 19 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown in his two seasons with the team.
Coming into the NFL as a fourth-round selection (No. 124 overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech, Thomas was selected by the Arizona Cardinals as a quarterback, throwing for 81 yards and one touchdown in two games before making the switch fulltime to the tight end position.
Detroit currently only has Jesse James, Michael Roberts, and Thomas at the position. As this may bid well for Thomas and Roberts now, we should expect Detroit to add more depth and competition via free agency and/or the draft.
