Julian Edelman Update

New England Patriots fans have something to celebrate going into the third week of the preseason.

Per ESPN field reporter Mike Reiss, the Super Bowl MVP has been taken off the NFI list.

The Kent State alum was dealing with a thumb injury for the better part of training camp but was still practicing to a certain extent. With activation, he is eligible to suit up for the ‘dress rehearsal’ preseason game on Thursday.

Edelman, 33, is among the oldest members of the New England Patriot roster as well as Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s bread and butter.

With Edelman back in the lineup, the team has only Cameron Meredith and Josh Gordon on the NFI list. Demaryius Thomas remains on the PUP.
