Havlicek had a storied career and was selected to 13 NBA All-Star teams. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984.
But it’s his accomplishments and impact as a Boston Celtic which will never be forgotten. He helped lead the team to eight of their 17 championships and won Finals MVP in 1974. Havlicek is first all-time for the Celtics in points, minutes, and games played. He’s second in assists and fifth in rebounds.
All of those fantastic statistics, but John was so much more. He embodied the meaning of what it means to be a Celtic on and off the court, and may he now rest in peace.
