Final Score: Bills 32, Jets 6

Coming into this game, the vaunted Jets defense looked to continue to force Josh Allen turnovers. The former Wyoming quarterback threw two interceptions in Week 10 against the Broncos, adding just 178 yards in their loss. While the Jets have struggled all season on offense, Robert Saleh’s defense has continued to be one of the best in the NFL. The Bills dismantled that unit, though, putting up 32 points in an ugly blowout in Orchard Park.

Looking Forward

With Wilson at quarterback, the Bills were favored, but a thumping of this magnitude was not expected. The Bills need to run the table if they want to make the playoffs, and they seemed to understand the assignment in Week 11. Josh Allen took the short, intermediate options available, and the team leaned on James Cook in the running game. Cook matched his season-high in carries, totaling 17 attempts for 73 yards.

Zach Wilson was benched in the third quarter for Tim Boyle, who was also named starter for the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins. The former No. 2 pick seems to have been truly broken by the NFL, looking completely different from his tape at BYU. The offensive line did not help matters, either, giving up an astronomical 13 pressures on Sunday. Even when remotely healthy back in Week 1, this Jets offensive line caused Aaron Rodgers to be hit on all three dropback attempts, including the last one that caused him to tear his Achilles. Even if Wilson is gone, anyone standing behind that line, which is even more banged up coming out of this game, is in a world of trouble.

Many have seen the Buffalo Bills fall to 5-5, and they now have an uphill battle to make the playoffs. They face the Eagles, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Dolphins on their quest for a Lombardi trophy. The buck stops with Josh Allen. He will need to continue to take what defenses give him, instead of forcing plays, if the Bills want to make it deep into December.
