With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Does Ben Roethlisberger Have Anything Left?
This was also the biggest question heading into last season. Whether or not Ben Roethlisberger coming off of elbow surgery would be anywhere close to his former self. The Steelers started the season 11-0 and were the last team to lose a game when they lost to the Washington Football Team in December. Including that game, the Steelers won one of their last four games and limped into the playoff. They lost on Wildcard Weekend to their rival Cleveland Browns. While the receivers didn’t do Big Ben any favors with their ridiculous amount of dropped passes, as the season wore on, the veteran signal-caller seemed tired. But the organization saw things differently, as Roethlisberger will be under center in Week 1 to start his 18th season in the NFL.
Will the Rookie Provide a Much-Needed Running Game?
The Steelers have lacked a consistent run game, which left Roethlisberger out to dry more often than not. The Steelers used their first-round pick on Alabama running back Najee Harris. Despite having limited carries his first two seasons at Alabama, since he was third on the depth chart behind current Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris of the New England Patriots, Najee finished his college career as the all-time leader in rushing yards (3,843), touchdowns (57), as well as total yards from scrimmage (4,624) for the Crimson Tide.

Will the Defense Still Dominate the Competition?
The defense was as dominating a unit as there was last season, finishing third overall behind the Los Angeles Rams and the Baltimore Ravens. That was despite losing linebackers Devin Bush and Bud Dupree to injured reserve. T.J. Watt led the team with 15 sacks and 23 tackles for a loss but was robbed of the Defensive Player of the Year Award; which went to the Rams Aaron Donald. Both Bush and Dupree are expected to be ready for the start of the season, although Dupree will be doing so in Tennessee after signing with the Titans as a free agent. With most of the starting cast from last season back this defense will continue to sit down opposing offenses.
