Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Seattle Seahawks.

Will Russell Wilson Have Another MVP-Caliber Season?

It was a tale of two seasons for Wilson in Seattle. In the first half, Wilson was playing lights out and was the early front runner for the MVP award. But as the season wore on and the Seahawks offensive line deteriorated, Wilson was sacked 47 times, in addition, he was pressured and hit at an alarming rate and his performance suffered as a result. Wilson finished the season with over 4,200 yards passing and 40 touchdown passes, and another 513 yards coming on the ground. Most of his ground yards came as a result of protection breakdowns.

Wilson was so fed up that reports out of Seattle have been that he wants to be traded. In a division where he has to face Nick Bosa, Aaron Donald, and now J.J. Watt two times each he has a right to be concerned.

Can the Running Backs Stay Healthy?

Chris Carson was the Seahawks leading rusher with 681 yards and five touchdowns. Carlos Hyde played in 10 games in his first season in Seattle, but he only accounted for 356 yards rushing. Rashaad Penny, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 15  of 2019, only played in three games as his recovery stretched into December. The Seattle backfield dealt with injuries all season long.

Will they Make Another Playoff Run?

Similar to Wilson, the Seahawks’ season seemed to be two different ones. In the first half, it looked like they were going to run away with the division, especially after last year’s division champs the San Francisco 49ers were hit hard with injuries. But the closer the playoffs got the more they seemed to be limping into them. That became evident when Seattle lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round.
