Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Is it make-or-break time for Wentz?

Quarterback Carson Wentz was inconsistent to the point that he was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts. With the second-round pick under center, the team became instantly more dynamic. It didn’t lead to many wins, but fans in Philadelphia have to be optimistic about the near future.

As for Wentz, rumors have been swirling that he will be traded in the coming weeks. As the days pass, a deal out of Philly seems more and more likely sooner rather than later. Wentz has played the better part of the last two seasons with a decimated receiving corps, so he’ll surely be looking for better weapons wherever he lands next.

Was Sanders’s rookie season a fluke?

Despite missing four games, running back Miles Sanders still eclipsed 1,000 yards from scrimmage. He also matched his rookie season with six total touchdowns. Boston Scott added just under 500 total yards and a pair of scores.

What will their new-look defense look like?

The Eagles’ defense was similar to its quarterback: inconsistent. For a team that only tallied four wins, they had a legitimate shot at winning the NFC East with four weeks to play. The defense couldn’t seem to make stops at the key moments week after week. This unit will likely be revamped extensively before next season. With the strong emergence of their division-mates, the Eagles must address their defense soon.
