Dallas Cowboys Three Burning Questions

Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Dallas Cowboys.

Which Quarterback Will Start More Games?

Dak Prescott never got his contract extension prior to the season. Prescott suffered a compound fracture and dislocated ankle in Week 5 and missed the rest of the season. Andy Dalton started nine games. He passed for 2,170 yards and 14 touchdowns, but only went 4-5 as the starter. Since the season came to an end, the status of Prescott and more importantly his contract status, are for the second straight offseason the biggest question in Big D, for the Cowboys.

Was Lamb the Steal of the Draft?

Rookie receiver CeeDee Lamb fell just 65 yards shy of 1,000 yards receiving. He accounted for seven total touchdowns, including five receiving, one rushing and he also added a kick return touchdown as well. The impact Lamb had as the number three target could be seen more in the total stats for Lamb, fellow receivers Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and tight end Dalton Schultz. They combined for 3,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. Regardless of who the quarterback is, this foursome is a pretty formidable one.

Will the Defense be Among the Best in the League?

The defensive struggled just about all season long. They gave up tons of big plays, forcing the offense to play from behind in almost every game. Free-agent acquisition, Dontari Poe, was released before midseason. The unit will be the overwhelming area of focus in free agency as well as the draft. One of the bright spots on the unit was embattled linebacker Aldon Smith who had a solid season for Dallas.
