Has Another Patriots Player’s Burner Account Been Discovered?

Burner accounts.

We all know that the Twitter world has been plagued with trolls, catfish, and people who act like someone they’re not. Now, the burner account phenomena may have infiltrated the New England Patriots.

The account in question is “Paul D,” a twitter account with a generic profile icon and header. This is the twitter account that could possibly belong to Patriots wide receiver, Jakobi Meyers. Where the account gets interesting is in the “tweets and replies” section. With replies to other accounts that mostly bash Meyers’ name, the account is seen to defend Meyers at all costs since March 2019.

A little suspicious approach that this account knows a lot of information surrounding Meyers that the everyday Patriots fan probably wouldn’t know. Why is this one account specifically focused on Meyers and not any other Patriots player? Wouldn’t a Patriots fan be focused on other players on the team as well? It seems a bit odd.

The account has many characteristics of a burner account. Faceless icons/headers, no original tweets, and all replies/likes dealing with the player who controls the account. The account tends to show hints of inside access to Meyers as there are specific NFL film clips of Meyers, different means of defenses when it comes to they Meyers name, as well as how the Patriots could have rewarded playing time.

It seems a tad bit odd to know how the Patriots award playing time. While the account’s talk of the Patriots not awarding playing time based on who earns it could just be an assumption, it wouldn’t be normal of an everyday fan to use that specific defense as a counter-argument.

A bigger storyline, if this is one of Meyers’ burners, is the constant bashes and defenses of the Patriots offense, except the rookie receivers.

The account goes after Julian Edelman, bashing the star Patriots receiver because he leads the league in drops. The account then immediately backtracks and says “not to bash Tom or Jules.” This sort of seems like the person running the account is trying to throw shade without deliberately saying it. The account tends to do this a lot throughout most of its tweets, sometimes even comparing fellow rookie receiver N’Keal Harry.

This isn’t the first time the account has been called out for possibly being a burner of Jakobi’s.

More tweets can be found on the user’s account (@John69480623).

Could this be a big-time Jakobi Meyers fan? Maybe. Could this be a family member or a close friend to Meyers? Possibly. Or could this be a burner account of Meyers’ as the receiver hides behind a fake account? You decide for yourself.

There is a reason why he was available that late, but there’s also a boatload of things to like about this prospect, and the pros arguably far outweigh the cons.
