Welcome back to Gio’s weekly picks for the college football season. Here, I will detail my thoughts on two of the more significant matchups, as well as give my locks for the week and pick the spread and outright winners.
Houston at Baylor (-4)
Outright: Baylor
Spread: Baylor (lock)
Houston lost arguably their most dynamic weapon in D’Eriq King, who departed to Miami this year. Baylor retains the services of quarterback Charlie Brewer, as well as running back John Lovett and the underrated wide receiver RJ Sneed. Baylor won’t blow the game to a far less dynamic Cougars team. The Bears should probably win by two touchdowns.
17 Miami at 18 Louisville (-2.5)
Outright: Miami
Spread: Miami
It’s impossible to count on Louisville, meaning Miami gets the edge in this game. They have some fantastic weapons in Dez Fitzpatrick and Tutu Atwell, but Miami just has too much firepower to lose this game now. This will be a great game to watch between some phenomenal athletes.
Wake Forest at NC State (-2.5)

Wake Forest looked miserable against Clemson, but the score wasn’t nearly as bad as expected. Their defense should be able to hold NC State’s lackluster offense in check.
