Gift or Curse? Brady to Appear on Cover of Madden NFL 18

Once more, a New England Patriot will grace the cover of one of sport’s most notable gaming franchises. Madden NFL.

Tom Brady has never been on the cover of Madden in his entire career, one of the very few accolades he had yet to check off.

He will be featured as well on Madden’s G.O.A.T. edition which will honor some of NFL history’s best.

However, Patriots fans and Brady fans alike should be worried, as Madden could take yet another victim under the wrath of the supposed Madden curse. Brady’s teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski, was the most recent victim of the curse only playing five games in the 2017 season because of a lingering back issue.

A year prior, Odell Beckham Jr. was on the cover and caught the curse. Though he didn’t get injured, he suffered a depressing season statistically which he would immediately bounce back from the following year.

Other players like Shaun Alexander (’07) and Peyton Hillis (’12), suffered the same fate during their tenure as the Madden cover athlete.

Brady however does not seem to be worried about it, as he was seen smashing mirrors, walking under ladders, and splitting poles. Making it clear that he doesn’t believe in superstitions or curses.

Brady will turn 40 in August and even though he seems to be cheating father time, Patriots fans are hoping that he doesn’t become the latest to be affected for being the upcoming Madden cover boy.
