Week 5 in the NFL has ended, meaning it is time for a new Team of the Week to be crowned. This week, that honor belongs to the New York Jets.

The Jets were able to beat the Dolphins by running the ball beautifully. New York scored points against division-rival Miami with ease and is now starting to make other teams throughout the NFL worried.

The Running Game

The Jets ran the ball well as all of their top-four rushers had at least one touchdown. Rookie running back Breece Hall led the team as both a runner and receiver. He tallied 18 carries for 97 yards and one touchdown. He also caught two passes for an additional 100 yards through the air.

Michael Carter contributed to the running game with 10 touches for 21 yards and two touchdowns. Braxton Berrios notched a 15-yard rushing score while Zach Wilson also scored a touchdown on the ground. New York scored an NFL-most 40 points in Week 5, and they did it by simply running the ball effectively.

Beyond the Buffalo Bills in first place, you find something unexpected: the Jets are in second place. From there on, the Dolphins have a loose grasp on third while the Patriots currently sit in fourth.

Expectations

The Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, inspiring plenty of confidence in this Mike McDaniel-led squad. Fast forward two weeks and the Jets dominated Miami, 40-17. With that said, the Dolphins were injured to hell and back and had to play their seventh-round rookie quarterback, Skylar Thompson. Ultimately, he went 19-for-33 with 166 yards and one interception.
