Play & Odds: Dylan Cozens (BUF) OVER 2.5 Shots on Goal (-115)

Justification

As the Buffalo Sabres continue along their rebuild, Dylan Cozens has emerged as one of the most talented young players. After signing a whopping seven-year, $49.7 million contract extension last month, Cozens has put up a career season in 2022-23 with 25 goals and 55 points in 64 games played. Tonight, his Sabres battle the Toronto Maple Leafs with Cozens’ shot prop set at 2.5. I’m riding with the OVER on this one, and here’s why.

Coming into tonight, Cozens has averaged 2.6 SOG per game to go along with a 15 percent shooting efficiency. He is constantly around the puck and remains a bona-fide force in the offensive zone under Sabres head coach Don Granato. Cozens’ ice-time is up (16:24), he’s a key cog on the Sabres’ top power-play unit, and he should get some excellent looks at even strength alongside the likes of Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka. Cozens is averaging 9.54 SOG/60 minutes and 15.66 shot attempts per sox minutes, both ranking third on the Sabres behind Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner. Don’t hesitate for a second; take the OVER on Cozens’ shot prop.
