Back with another week of sleepers, heading into the third week of the fantasy season, diamonds in the rough are becoming more important. Especially for those who are trailing in their leagues or for those looking to build a lead. With intriguing matchups across the board on the third week of this NFL season, let’s dive into this week’s sleeper picks.

Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Fresh off a tremendous Week 3 performance in a loss on Thursday night against the divisional rival Cleveland Browns, Burrow gets another chance to have a big Sunday this week on the road at Philadelphia. Still looking to find their stride during the young season, the Eagles defense has looked rough through two weeks, giving up over 32 points per game. Averaging over 250 yards passing per game in the young season, Burrow is as exciting a young quarterback as we have seen in recent memory. Currently projected as QB18 according to Fantasy Pros heading into the weekend, look for him to have another strong showing.

Dalton Schultz, TE, Dallas Cowboys

In his expanded role with the Cowboys following the loss of starting tight end Blake Jarwin to a season-ending knee injury, Schultz was solid, recording nine receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Expected to remain the starting tight end for the foreseeable future, look for him to remain a big part of the Cowboys offense that has looked tremendous through two weeks, with over 350 yards of total offense in both games. Heading into a Week 3 matchup on the road at Seattle, Schultz is a sleeper pick at his current TE23 rank. Expected to be a high scoring game with two of the best offenses in the league, Schultz is a high-end TE2 with upside if he can find the end zone for the second week in a row.

Russell Gage, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Filling the void left by Mohamad Sanu in the Falcons offense, the former LSU Tiger is off to a tremendous start for his 2020 campaign. With 160 receiving yards and a score already over two games, Gage is on pace to finish inside the top 30 rankings for receivers this season. With a matchup against one of the best run defenses in the league, in the Chicago Bears on Sunday, expect Matt Ryan to come out slinging the ball all over the field. In their last two games, both Matthew Stafford and Daniel Jones both hit the 40 attempts mark against the Bears, providing the opportunity for Falcons receivers to have a big game Sunday.

Latavius Murray, RB, New Orleans Saints

Held out of the game script after the Saints fell behind on Monday night, Murray had only three attempts on the ground all night. With Drew Brees struggling and beginning to show signs of age through two weeks of the season, expect Murray to be a larger part of the offense on Sunday night against a shaky Green Bay run defense. Look for the Saints to feed the ball early to him in a ground and pound style of attack to spell some pressure off Brees. One week removed from a 15 carry performance against Tampa Bay, Murray should be in line for a similar workload on Sunday, making him an intriguing option at his current RB36 projection.

Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chicago Bears

A bold selection to finish off our sleepers list, Trubisky has put up QB14 numbers through two weeks on the season so far and looks to be in for another big performance in Week 3 against the Falcons. Fresh off an embarrassing loss to the Cowboys in Dallas in which they allowed the Cowboys to score 17 unanswered points in the final five minutes of the game and put up over 500 yards of total offense, the Falcons defense looks to have zero answers to stopping opposing offenses this season. Looking more comfortable early on in another year in Matt Nagy’s system, the Bears signal-caller has already tossed five touchdowns and thrown for over 400 yards through two weeks. Projected as QB20 heading into the weekend, he offers tremendous upside for players in need of a quarterback for the week.
