Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets Special: Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears

In a matchup between NFC North Division rivals, the 12-3 Green Bay Packers head to Chicago to take on the 8-7 Bears later today. With the win, the Packers secure the No.1 seed in the NFC Playoffs and the only first-round bye. For the Bears, it’s win and make the playoffs. However, even with the loss, they can still get in the playoffs with a Los Angeles Rams victory over the Arizona Cardinals. With plenty on the line for both teams, gamblers can expect a close, competitive game.

The team’s fan base and fantasy football players will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention. For gamblers, their only rooting interest is whatever will lead to money in their pocket. However, which bets should they place? Here are my five favorite prop bets for this game.

Davante Adams to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-160)

At this point, betting this is borderline stealing. Last week, in the snow, Adams had three touchdowns, catching one on every 3.7 receptions. He now has 17 touchdowns in 13 games this season, scoring at least one in 10 of those games. Furthermore, Adams has scored at least one touchdown in nine of his last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Bears have been unable to slow down wide receivers recently. Over their last seven games, the Bears have given up 11 touchdowns to wide receivers. Adams had a touchdown in the Week 12 matchup against the Bears and could easily score the first touchdown of the game today.

David Montgomery Over 77.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

Since the Bears’ Week 11 bye, Montgomery has been one of the best running backs in the league, averaging 105.8 rushing yards per game, recording at least 72 in every game. Meanwhile, the Packers have struggled to stop the run this season, giving up an average of 93.1 rushing yards per game to running backs. Furthermore, they have given up 100 or more rushing yards to running backs in over half of their games this season. In their Week 12 matchup, Montgomery had 103 rushing yards, averaging 9.4 yards per attempt. Montgomery has been the focal point of the Bears’ offense over the last five weeks, so expect that to be the case again this week.

Aaron Rodgers Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (+125)

Not only does Rodgers lead the league with 44 passing touchdowns, but he has multiple passing touchdowns in all but two games this season. Rodgers has more games this season with four passing touchdowns (six) than games with two or fewer (four). Meanwhile, the Bears have given up 20 passing touchdowns over their last nine games, giving up multiple in all but one. More importantly, they gave up a season-high four passing touchdowns to Rodgers in their Week 12 matchup. Rodgers has thrown three or more touchdowns in five of his last six games, and with a chance to secure the MVP award today, don’t be surprised if he has five touchdown passes.

Allen Robinson Over 5.5 Receptions (-150)

Outside of Robinson, the Bears have lacked a consistent pass catcher this season. However, Robinson has stepped up for the Bears, averaging 6.7 receptions on 9.7 targets per game. Robinson has six or more receptions in 67 percent of his games this season, including seven of his past eight. Furthermore, Robinson has seen nine or more targets in 73 percent of his games this season. Meanwhile, the Packers have struggled to slow down elite wide receivers lately, giving up over 11 receptions to the position in six of their past eight games. More importantly, in Week 12, Robinson had eight receptions on 13 targets against the Packers. In a win or go home situation, expect Montgomery and Robinson to touch the ball on almost every snap.

Robert Tonyan to Score an Anytime Touchdown (+180)

The fact that Tonyan didn’t make the Pro Bowl is criminal. His 10 touchdowns this season are tied for the sixth-most in the league. They are second among tight ends, only behind Travis Kelce‘s 11. More importantly, Tonyan has a touchdown in five of his past six games, including against the Bears in Week 12. Meanwhile, the Bears have struggled to slow down tight ends this season, giving up 10 touchdowns to the position. Furthermore, the Bears have given up four touchdowns to tight ends over his last four games, including two to the Packers’ tight ends in Week 12. Expect Tonyan to score at least once, if not twice, in this game.
