Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets for TNF: New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles

After having no Thursday night football last week, everyone should be excited for the game tonight between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. While the two teams have a combined record of 2-9-1, even the most boring games open the door for gamblers to make some money. Unfortunately, with so many injuries for both teams, gamblers have limited options when it comes to prop bets for this game.

The team’s fan base and fantasy football players will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention. For gamblers, their only rooting interest is whatever will lead to money in their pocket. However, which bets should they place for tonight’s game? Here are five bets gamblers should consider placing.

Carson Wentz Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-105)

While Wentz won’t have Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz, or Miles Sanders tonight, DeSean Jackson will play. Meanwhile, Travis Fulgham has stepped up as Wentz’s go-to receiver over the last few weeks. Even with the lack of proven weapons, Wentz has thrown for four touchdowns the previous two weeks despite facing two of the best defenses in the league. Tonight he faces a Giants defense that gave up two passing touchdowns to Kyle Allen last week. Furthermore, the Giants have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for over 1.5 passing touchdowns in half of their games this season. With a limited running game, Wentz should air the ball out enough to easily throw two or more touchdowns for the third straight game.

Daniel Jones Over 0.5 Interceptions (-175)

Much like the Eagles, the Giants have been hit hard by the injury bug. After losing Saquon Barkley in Week 2, the offense has severely regressed. In the four games without Barkley, Jones is averaging 176 passing yards per game and has only one touchdown compared to five turnovers. Furthermore, Jones has thrown at least one interception in five of six games this season. With the Eagles likely to get pressure in Jones’ face all night long, expect him to throw at least one, if not two, interceptions. Furthermore, don’t be surprised if Jones has an interception before halftime.

Carson Wentz to Score an Anytime Touchdown (+260)

Not only has Wentz been scoring in the air, but he’s turned into a rushing machine. While that’s a little exaggerated, Wentz has scored a rushing touchdown in four of his last five games this season. Furthermore, he is averaging 6.3 rushing attempts per game over his last four contests. While the Giants haven’t faced many mobile quarterbacks this season, with Sanders out for this game, gamblers should expect Wentz to see an uptick in rushing attempts. At over 2.5-1 odds, Wentz to score a rushing touchdown is too good to pass up.

Daniel Jones Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-182)

In Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jones played reasonably well. He threw for a season-high 279 yards and two touchdowns, both to Darius Slayton. However, since then, Jones is averaging 189 passing yards per game and has only one passing touchdown. He went four straight weeks without a passing touchdown and only had one against an awful Washington secondary last week. Meanwhile, the Eagles have held quarterbacks to an average of 1.8 passing touchdowns per game this season. Furthermore, they have held quarterbacks under two passing touchdowns in two of their last three games. While the price is a heavy one to pay, Jones is unlikely to throw two touchdown passes tonight after having three over the first six games of the season.

Carson Wentz Over 0.5 Interceptions (+108)

As great as Wentz has been at times this season, he gets caught trying to do too much and force things when they aren’t there. Wentz’s nine interceptions are the second-most in the league, and until last week, he had thrown at least one in every game. Furthermore, Wentz has thrown two or more interceptions in four of his first five games this season. Meanwhile, the Giants’ defense has picked up their play recently and has an interception in each of their last two games. At some point tonight, Wentz will try to force a throw that isn’t there and will end up throwing an interception. At a positive payout, this prop is too good to pass up.
