Goran Dragic will Play Out the Season in Toronto

Since being traded to Toronto, it’s been no secret that the new Raptors guard wants to move elsewhere. He even alluded to it during a recent interview. Many rumors have pointed to the Dallas Mavericks as Dragic’s most preferred destination. However, a deal hasn’t been worked out with the Mavericks, who are reportedly more willing to wait for buyout instead. The Raptors would prefer to receive something back for the veteran guard. Regardless, expect Dragic’s time in Toronto to be short-lived. Dragic will either be traded before the deadline or bought out afterwards.

Verdict: Fiction, Dragic will not play out the season in Toronto.

OG Anunoby will be a Most Improved Player Finalist

The aforementioned Vanleet and Siakam are players who are expected to have expanded roles. The Raptors can count on Anunoby as another player who can benefit from an expanded role. Last year, Anunoby averaged 15.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals. While continuing to impress as an on-ball defender, Anunoby began to show some glimpses of being a shot creator. Using his size and strength, Anunoby can power his way to the basket against small players. Still, needs to continue to work on his handles. But the opportunities will be there for Anunoby to make another jump for the Raptors.

Verdict: Fact, Anunoby will be a Most Improved Player finalist

The Raptors will Miss the Playoffs Again

While the Raptors’ young players will benefit from expanded roles, expect them to miss the playoffs again. The Eastern Conference has been getting much better over the years. The moves made by most teams in the conference have made it tougher to compete. The Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks now look like perennial playoff contenders. The Chicago Bulls look even better with their new additions. Finally, the Charlotte Hornets with the emergence of Lamelo Ball can not be forgotten as well. All in all, it’s tough seeing the Raptors making an appearance in next year’s playoffs. Still, the team should be in good shape for the future.

Verdict: Fact, the Raptors will miss the playoffs.
