Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. went viral on Sunday after an exchange with Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens.
Late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, Beckham caught a touchdown pass, his third of the season. The Browns then tried a two-point conversion and that attempt failed. After the failed two-point conversion attempt, Beckham threw his helmet at the bench and got into what appeared to be a heated exchange with Kitchens.

It originally appeared that Beckham wasn’t happy with Kitchens’s play-calling and was letting him know by letting him have it. However, that appears to not be the case. Beckham says that his exchange with Kitchens was about his post-touchdown celebration, not Kitchens’s play-calling.
“We were just talking,” Beckham told the media regarding the exchange. “The refs making calls. Basically, they were warning me that if I had one more personal foul, then I would be out of the game, which I thought was pretty stupid. I got a personal foul for a celebration I’ve done all year. It’s not like a player was in front of me or anybody was. It was very unintentional. It is what it is.”
So, Beckham was angry because if he got another personal foul, he could be ejected from the game.
Beckham’s future with the Browns
Recently, there have been rumors about Beckham’s future with the Browns. There are rumors that Beckham wants out of Cleveland and to be with another team.
A couple of weeks ago, FOX Sports reported that Beckham had been telling opposing players and coaches to “come get me.” He said at the time that he didn’t know what the future holds. Last Wednesday, Beckham denied that he wants out of Cleveland and that he is planning to be with the Browns in 2020.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said, per Jake Trotter of ESPN. I’ll be here. We’ll figure this thing out. It’s just too special to leave.”
Beckham added, “Yeah, we’re going to be here. We’re going to do it again, and we’re going to be what we felt like we should’ve been and correct all the little mistakes and all the if-we-would’ve-did-this games. It’s just too good.”
While Beckham says he’ll be back with the Browns in 2020, the Browns don’t have plans to trade him. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Browns front office has told Beckham that he isn’t going anywhere, as they don’t want him to leave and they don’t plan on trading him.

A couple of weeks ago, we wrote an article saying that the Browns should trade Beckham citing Beckham’s unhappiness. The other reason is he’s not having a great year. So far, he has 67 catches for 910 yards and three touchdowns. The Browns are 6-8 and will miss the playoffs, so it is easy to understand why Beckham is not happy and would want out.
Although Beckham leaving Cleveland would be the better option, it appears that he is not going anywhere, at least for now. Perhaps next year is a better year for Beckham.
