Every NFL Team’s Biggest Question Mark for 2019

With the NFL Draft than a month in the past, teams are starting to come together for offseason activities and to resolve as many questions as they can.

Speaking of these questions and concerns, here are the biggest question marks for every NFL team in 2019.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals their summer practices with a strong flurry of questions. The biggest one is obvious: Will Kyler Murray be able to perform at the NFL level and lead the Cardinals to a somewhat decent season?

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons lost Tevin Coleman to the 49ers in free agency, but workhorse running back Devonta Freeman is back from an injury. The question remains: Will Freeman be able to return to his previous self and be the star running back that the Falcons need?

Baltimore Ravens

This one shouldn’t come as much of a surprise either, as it was a question that surrounded the Baltimore franchise for the second portion of the 2018 season. Can Lamar Jackson‘s run-heavy offense really survive in today’s NFL?

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been just a “meh” team for several years now, accumulating more than their fair share of .500 and playoff-fringe seasons. So, in 2019, is sophomore quarterback Josh Allen ready to take a big leap?

Carolina Panthers

Word of Cam Newton‘s potential injury surfaced in the early weeks of the offseason, so it’s no surprise that is the biggest worry in Charlotte as the offseason activities kick off. Is Cam Newton healthy enough to be the Panthers’ starting quarterback?

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears suffered from the kicking woes of Cody Parkey for essentially the entire 2019 season. Now that Parkey is gone, the Bears not only need to turn their kicking around, but actually find a reliable kicker. So, who will be the kicker in 2019?

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals made three huge strides at the offensive line with the return of first-rounder Billy Price, the signing of former Bills guard John Miller, and the first-round selection of Jonah Williams. Is the Bengals’ offensive line ready to go?

Cleveland Browns

Freddie Kitchens is taking over the reins for a team that is playoff-hungry after an exciting 2018 season that almost resulted in a playoff appearance. Can Kitchens and sophomore quarterback Baker Mayfield do what it takes to get the city of Cleveland a ticket to the postseason?

Dallas Cowboys

Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was fired and replaced by Kellen Moore. It’s not a completely game-changing move, but it is enough to pose a realistic question. Can Moore be the leader this offense needs?

Denver Broncos

There’s a big question on offense after the trade of Case Keenum and the acquisition of Joe Flacco and Drew Lock. Does Flacco have it in him to be a reliable bridge quarterback who can lead the Broncos to the playoffs?

Detroit Lions

The Lions made a big splash on the defensive line with the signing of another former Patriot, Trey Flowers. The loss of Ezekiel Ansah hurts, but with Da’Shawn Hand and Romeo Okwara poised for big seasons, is the Detroit pass rush good enough to compete?

Green Bay Packers

The Packers hired a new head coach in Matt LaFleur this offseason. His coaching is likely to be challenged by an already-planted leader in Aaron Rodgers (who is just a few years older than LaFleur), so can LaFleur get this team past the dysfunction and into the playoffs?

Houston Texans

Mobile quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked for a league-high 62 times in 2018, which is way too many for a speedy QB. The Texans splurged on some fancy O-line assets this offseason, but can the new and improved offensive line keep Watson upright?

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts silenced the many doubters in 2018 with a push to the playoffs in Andrew Luck‘s first year back from injury. With a young defense and a dynamic offense, the Colts look poised for a big 2019 season. But are the Colts for real?

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars gave quarterback Nick Foles a massive four-year, $88 million contract and cut ties with Blake Bortles and Cody Kessler. Yes, Foles is a Super Bowl MVP, but he is also a journeyman who has spent a large portion of his career as a backup. Is he ready to complement the strong defense with an also-strong offense of his own?

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs’ offseason became a mess when news about Tyreek Hill‘s offseason incident arose, and it only got worse from there as more information surfaced. Things have been quiet lately, but how will things play out from here?

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers built up an even stronger defense this offseason to complement an already-strong offense, adding key defensive pieces like Thomas Davis, Jerry Tillery, and Nasir Adderley. Are the Chargers legit?

Los Angeles Rams

Todd Gurley supposedly has a knee injury that nobody knows much about. He’s expected to be ready to go for the 2019 season, but even that doesn’t appear to be a given. So, can Gurley get past his knee issue and help lead the Rams’ offense again?

Miami Dolphins

There has been talk about the Dolphins tanking since even before the conclusion of the 2018 season. Miami fired Adam Gase and added Brian Flores at the head coach position, while trading Ryan Tannehill and acquiring Josh Rosen at quarterback. The question remains: are the Dolphins tanking?

Minnesota Vikings

The question here is a pretty obvious one, considering Dalvin Cook returned from his knee injury in 2018 with a couple of solid performances, but nothing close to what he had started as a rookie. Can Cook return to playing like he did as a rookie?

New England Patriots

The Super Bowl champions had just 30 sacks in 2018, with 25 percent of those coming from the now-departed lineman, Trey Flowers. The Patriots snagged Michael Bennett in a trade and Chase Winovich in the draft, but is this defensive line really ready for the season?

New Orleans Saints

The Saints’ 2018 season perhaps crumbled at the hands of the referees after a crushing call halted an offensive drive. (Who knows what would have happened had the call gone the other way.) Can the Saints get over the call and continue their quest for a Super Bowl title in 2019?

New York Giants

The Giants continue to claim they remain committed to Eli Manning in 2019, and that appears to be the truth for now. But after drafting Daniel Jones early in the first round of the draft, how long will it take for Manning to be succeeded by the rookie?

New York Jets

The Jets signed Le’Veon Bell, hired Adam Gase, and fired Mike Maccagnan. After a quiet 2018 season, can Bell, Gase, and sophomore quarterback Sam Darnold put all negativity and concerns behind them?

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders bolstered their offensive with a wave of huge offensive improvements, headlined by the acquisition and signing of Antonio Brown. With the aid of these new weapons, can Derek Carr prove to the Oakland brass that he should be here to stay?

Philadelphia Eagles

Nick Foles is gone, and this is now Carson Wentz‘s team. After a long period of ailments, can Wentz prove that he can lead the Eagles to the playoffs despite the lack of a reliable backup?

Pittsburgh Steelers

Antonio Brown and his cocky manner are gone. Le’Veon Bell and his wild and selfish attitude have departed. Can Ben Roethlisberger, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Mike Tomlin come together to bring this team to the playoffs?

San Francisco 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo landed in San Francisco in 2017 and immediately made an impact, but his 2018 was cut short due to a devastating ACL injury. Will Garoppolo be ready to go for 2019, and can he bring a talented 49ers team deep into the playoffs?

Seattle Seahawks

For the past several years following Marshawn Lynch‘s departure from Seattle, the running back position has been a big question for the Seahawks. But now, with the proven skill from young leader Chris Carson, are all backfield questions erased?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ryan Fitzpatrick left Tampa Bay to head even further south to the Miami Dolphins in free agency, leaving Jameis Winston in an even-clearer starting role after the duo roughly split time in 2018. Can Winston prove he should be in Tampa Bay for a long period of time?

Tennessee Titans

From injuries and ailments to cold streaks and bad throws, Marcus Mariota disappointed the Titans in 2018. Can he turn things around in his contract year and prove that he should be back in 2020?

Washington Redskins

The Redskins lost starting quarterback Alex Smith to a gruesome injury that could be career-ending, and Colt McCoy suffered an injury of his own. While both are under contract for 2019, will starting quarterback Case Keenum be able to put them in the rearview mirror as he makes the Redskins his team?
