Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has joined a new team.

No, he is not leaving the Chiefs, but he has teamed up with Oakley as the first professional football player to ever represent the popular eyewear and sports apparel company. Other professional athletes that have partnered with Oakley include golfer Bubba Watson, skiers Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn, and snowboarder Chloe Kim.

Last year’s 23-year-old MVP tweeted early this morning the announcement along with a video:

The Oakley deal is the second endorsement deal that the increasingly popular Mahomes has landed since wowing the NFL with his phenomenal play in the 2018 season, bringing the Chiefs to the brink of their first Super Bowl in nearly 50 years.

Mahomes is also currently pitching his favorite condiment for Hunt’s Ketchup.

His next potential deal may well be with the fast-food chain Whataburger. It is no small secret that he is actively pushing the chain to bring a franchise to the Kansas City area. Although not accepting franchise applications currently, Whataburger did disclose that they had already sent a message to the star quarterback.
