Edelman Played With Partially Torn Cartilage Most of Season

It was known that Julian Edelman played the entire season with injuries, but the severity was always in question until now.

Per Adam Schefter, the wide receiver played with partially torn cartilage in his ribs since Week 3.

“Tests revealed the torn rib cartilage, an injury that would sideline many players, especially playing a position such as wide receiver,” Schefter wrote. “But Edelman managed the injury through practice and on Sundays, as tough as it was, not missing any time during the 2019 season.”

Even with the seriousness of the injuries, the Kent State alum recorded a season-high in receiving yards with 1,117.

Depending on what happens with the latest developments, Edelman is set to return and be one of the offense’s most reliable targets.
