Easy Like Sunday Morning in MLB DFS

Easy like Sunday morning in MLB DFS

Wrapping up the weekend, there is a beautiful 12-game slate starting at 1:00 pm ET today. As usual, we will be taking a look at value plays so you can save salary and spend up on some studs. So let’s grab a few pitchers $8,000 and under and a bunch of bats $4,100 and under. Hitting on a few of these guys will make raking in the dough easy like Sunday morning.

***All Prices Are DraftKings***

On the Bump

Danny Duffy $8,000 at Detroit Tigers

The Kansas City Royals lefty has been very good and very consistent this season. In his three starts, he has pitched exactly six innings while striking out at least five. All of Duffy’s games have been quality starts and the only earned run he’s given up in 18 innings was a solo homer off the bat of Shohei Ohtani. Duffy gets to face the Tigers today. They just simply can’t hit right now. Detroit is next to last in the majors in OPS (.647) and they have scored two runs or fewer in seven of their last eight games. Miguel Cabrera returns to the lineup today but even Miggy is only 11-for-47 in his career against Duffy with no HRs.

Jesus Luzardo $7,700 at Baltimore Orioles

Oakland’s lefty looked to get on track in his last outing allowing just two hits and striking out six Minnesota Twins in 5.1 innings. The A’s are rolling right now and it should continue against the lowly Orioles. Baltimore is last in MLB in OPS at .636. They strike out nearly 10 times a game and have been shut out three times this season, including twice in the last five games.

Taijuan Walker $7,500 vs. Washington Nationals

Walker needs to find the strike zone again. He has been effectively wild. Over his last eight innings, he’s walked nine and struck out 15 while only allowing three runs and five hits. The Nationals don’t like to take free passes. They are next to last in the majors with just 48 walks (COL 46). Walker’s start to the season is encouraging and his average fastball velocity has ticked up to 94.5 mph which is the highest it’s been since 2014.

On the Dirt

Cavan Biggio 3B $3,300

The Blue Jays leadoff hitter may have broken out last night going 3-for-5 with a double. This comes after a four-game stretch of 0-for-13. He will get to face righty Luis Patino to start the game with the Tampa Bay Rays going to lefty Josh Fleming afterward. The price is great and if Biggio is starting a hot streak, take advantage because his price will go back up into the $4,000s quickly.

Kolten Wong 2B $3,200

Wong was activated Friday from the IL and is 5-for-8 with a double, a homer, and a stolen base since returning. He leads off and is facing Jake Arrieta today. While Wong’s career stats aren’t great against the Cubs righty, many of those at-bats came back when Arrieta was dominating in his first stint with the Cubbies. Just like Biggio, take this price now as it won’t last long.

On the Grass

Michael Conforto OF $4,100

The Mets’ right fielder is now 4-for-11 in his last three games. He connected for his first home run of the season last night. Today he faces a familiar foe in Patrick Corbin. While the lefty-lefty matchup slightly favors the Nats’ southpaw, Conforto has hit him well in his career, going 9-for-25 with five HRs against Corbin.

Mark Canha OF $4,100

Another leadoff hitter to target here in the A’s outfielder. Canha leads the AL in runs scored with 20 and is 4-for-9 with a double and a stolen base in his last couple of games. Oakland is just clicking on all cylinders right now winning 13 in a row. He will be facing lefty John Means today. Over the past two years, Canha is slashing .316/.458/.509 with a solid 15/15 BB/K rate.

Adolis Garcia OF $3,800

The Rangers’ outfielder is also hot right now going 5-for-14 in his last three games with three bombs and seven RBI. He hits cleanup in the Texas lineup between Joey Gallo and Nate Lowe. While he will be facing Michael Kopech today, the White Sox youngster has yet to throw more than 41 pitches in an outing. Chicago’s bullpen hasn’t been great this year either with a 4.59 ERA and they’ve surrendered nine HRs in 66.2 innings. Whether it comes against a Kopech 100-mph heater or off a bullpen guy, Garcia is my home run call of the day.

Notes:

The first game of the Atlanta Braves-Arizona Diamondbacks doubleheader is only seven innings so the bats might not be worth playing.

It is raining here in Boston. While it is just a drizzle now, the rain is supposed to continue throughout the day. Be aware of that if you decide to play anyone from the Red Sox or Seattle Mariners.

Good Luck Everyone.
