EA Sports College Football 25 Review

will howard ea sports college football 25

Confession time: I am a gigantic college football fan and Ohio State graduate who loves my Buckeyes but enjoys all NCAA action. When I found out that EA Sports was bringing back College Football, I was very excited to purchase and play the game.

I have been blown away by how fun this game has been to play. The graphics, the gameplay, and everything else are great.

Below are five observations on EA Sports College Football 25:

The graphics are unreal

The details matter to me; the graphics are incredible. I started a dynasty with Ohio State and it shows all the different details of Ohio Stadium, from the band doing Script Ohio to Brutus the Buckeye. The graphics look like you are actually at the game. And it isn’t just Ohio State, but rather every stadium and experience. The details they put into this game are outstanding.

Playing with actual players in College Football 25

Because of NIL, college football players can now get paid for being in the game. Most players do appear in College Football 25. It is so cool to play with current players and go against current players in the game. It beats manually putting players in like you had to before.

Dynasty mode

Dynasty mode is back and better than ever. I have already started two dynasties with two different teams. My favorite part is that you can change conferences. It also has the revamped 12-team playoff like the actual sport this season. Plus, you can get fired as the coach, so don’t mess up.

Users also get coins for doing well, which can help you improve as a coach. Recruiting has been revamped and improved. Oh, and you can play an online Dynasty Mode, too.

Recruiting is legit in College Football 25

Recruiting is hard in the game. When I started the dynasty with Ohio State, I neglected recruiting. This was a huge mistake. I did not get any recruits during the season and then had to scramble during the offseason to assemble a recruiting class. The recruiting is a little different, but once you get a hold of it, you should do well. The transfer portal is also a part of the game this time, so if players are not happy, they can leave.

The playbooks are revamped and good

As a former football coach for 15 years, I have geeked out on the different playbooks available. There are many different types of playbooks, and you can get team-specific ones for each team. Every team has the same basic plays, but they all have a variety of different plays, too. Major differences are especially apparent in the passing game

Five Favorite Teams

Here are my five favorite teams to play with:

Georgia

I love Georgia’s playbook as have a ton of mesh passing concepts and their variety of formations is legit.

Oregon

Oregon runs the true spread system. They have all the common plays you like from spread offense, including plenty of different concepts where they throw the ball to the running backs in a variety of ways.

Ole Miss

Ole Miss has a ton of the common spread concepts. I enjoy their passing plays and the many different concepts they have.

Multiple

Multiple playbooks can be overwhelming because there are so many different formations and concepts, but if you can grasp the playbook, they have anything you want to run or pass with.

Liberty

Liberty? Really? Yes! For Xs and Os junkies like me, Liberty runs a unique option system. If you like the option, the Flames’ offense is for you.

EA Sports’ College Football 25 is a fun game. If you are an NCAA football fan and can afford a gaming system, you will enjoy the game.
