Postseason baseball is in full swing and we’ve already had some very exciting contests. Let’s make it even more exciting with some daily fantasy. For the most part, hitters will be matched up against premium pitching so finding offense isn’t as straight forward as on regular-season slates where you can target against weak pitching staffs’. Let’s get to it and go Around the Horn!
PITCHER
Jack Flaherty STL $8,200
Flaherty is the hottest pitcher in baseball and gets the edge for me. He has found another gear of late. His 15 games logged over the second half have been something to behold: a 0.91 ERA, a 0.71 WHIP, and a 7-2 record. The Braves are a very potent offense but Flaherty has handled them very well during the season. He is 1-0 over two starts striking out 13 over 12 innings with a 2.25 ERA.
INFIELD
Alex Bregman 3B HOU $4,700
Bregman finished the season very strongly and has cemented himself as the Astros best player. He closed out the regular season with four homers and seven runs batted in over the course of 10 games. Bregman is no stranger to the postseason socking six HRs 19 runs, and a .351 wOBA in 26 games.
Didi Gregorius SS NYY $3,800
The Yankees and Twins are poised to go off at Yankee Stadium. Loading up on bats from either side is fully in play. Gregorious at 3.8 K is a nice value play even though Didi was a bit off from his normal production this season. The Yanks hit a combined .327 with 12 HRs versus the Twins this season and Gregorious was a big contributor. He went 8-for-10 with 10 runs driven in just two contests.
OUTFIELD
Giancarlo Stanton NYY $4,000
This seems like a very nice price for Stanton even though he has missed the bulk of the regular season. In the nine games Stanton suited up for since coming off the injured list he is 8-for-28 with 2 HRs and a .986 OPS.
Nelson Cruz MIN $5,400
Cruz profiles well against a left-handed starter at Yankee Stadium. He will go into this one swinging a hot stick. A .457 average with 4 HRs and 11 RBI over his last 10 regular-season games. The Twins blasted 16 HRs versus New York this season and Cruz smashed five of them in just six games.
Good luck to everyone tonight, keep grinding out those lineups!
