No real weather concerns to kick off the weekend for Friday night. A full slate of games to breakdown so let’s jump right in and go Around the Horn!
PITCHER
Robbie Ray ARZ $10,400
With no clear cut favorite for SP1 tonight Ray still profiles as someone whom we can feel good about backing. Ray is virtually matchup dependent as evidenced by his very good strikeout numbers. In his last five games started Ray has put up four quality starts winning four of them and striking out 44 batters in 30 innings of work.
INFIELD
Andrelton Simmons SS LAA $3,300
Simmons and the Angels will be in tough against Cleveland who will be led by Mike Clevinger, but Simmons is a nice salary saver on this full slate. Simmons has some good numbers when matched up against Clevinger going 7-for-11 with a 1.329 OPS. Recently Simmons has gone 3-for-9 against the Tigers with two extra-base hits.
Tyler Flowers C ATL $3,200
Provided he gets the start against the Cincinnati Red Flowers will be in a prime spot to mash against left-handed starter Alex Wood. Flowers and the majority of his Braves teammates have fared extremely well off of Wood as they have compiled a combined slash line of .358/ .421/ .478. As for Flowers, he has seven knocks in 14 plate appearances, while driving in eight runs.
OUTFIELD
Max Kepler MIN $5,200
Kepler and the Twins are in a plus matchup here versus the Kansas City Royals. Kepler is in the midst having a stellar season. Just recently Kepler went deep last night bringing his season total to thirty already. Kepler has gone deep five times in his previous seven games.
George Springer HOU $5,300
Springer is a fine selection to round out your outfield as the Astros host the Seattle Mariners who will send out Yusei Kikuchi Friday night. Kikuchi has struggled for most of the season compiling an ERA over 5.00 in 22 games this season. Springer is always a key cog to one of the most consistent offenses in all of baseball.
