Our focus will be on the night slate. We’ve whittled it down to a handful of games that project for high run totals to help build your offense. The highest totals as of this morning are as follow: Angels at Rangers(11), Phillies at Red Sox (12), Royals at Orioles (10.5), Yankees at Athletics (9.5) and finally the Astros at home to the Tigers. Let’s get right to it and Go Around the Horn!
PITCHER
Justin Verlander HOU $12,000
Verlander is close to a lock across the board tonight. The Detroit Tigers rank at the bottom of nearly every statistical category and they will be up against one the league’s premier pitchers. For the second half of the season they are hitting just .246(30th), .293 wOBA(28th), they also strike out at a very high rate(27.2%) which is just behind the Seattle Mariners(27.3%).
INFIELD
DJ LeMahieu 2B/3B NYY $4,600
LeMahieu, like the better part of the entire lineup, continues to smash this season. Although playing at spacious Oakland Coliseum, the Yankees always profile well. At this price tag, LeMahieu is a fine selection. Recently LeMahieu is his usual consistent self going 8-for-23 with a 1.000 OPS over the course off the last seven days.
Jean Segura SS PHI $4,200
Segura and the Phillies have found themselves right in the thick of the playoff race as we get closer to the postseason. The Phillies will visit the struggling Red Sox and Rick Porcello tonight, Segura will look to continue to be very productive for the surging Phillies. He is currently in the midst of a four-game hit streak which features four doubles, four runs driven in and four runs scored. In a limited sample, he has gone 4-for-9 versus Porcello.
OUTFIELD
Mike Trout LAA $5,200
Mike Trout is in the midst of a fantastic season as he has cemented himself right in the thick of the home run race. Trout and the Angels will be in a really good spot at Texas tonight. Trout has really excelled against the Rangers this season as he has knocked 10 of his 42 homers versus Texas. Rangers starter Mike Minor has had a great season but has dipped a bit in the second half. 45 innings pitched with a 4.00 ERA and a .330 wOBA against. The first half went much smother for Minor as he pitched to a 2.54 ERA in 117 innings of work with a .274 wOBA against.
Aaron Judge NYY $3,800
Although Judge has struggled recently it’s difficult not finding room in your outfield tonight for the slugger. Last night perhaps was a sign of good things to come as Judge went deep to snap a 13-game homerless streak. He will be matched up against Mike Fiers in this one, he has 11 at-bats versus the veteran right-hander which has resulted in a respectable .273 average, he also has a homer and a .909 OPS.
