The Dodgers could trade for Edwin Diaz prior to the trade deadline, per Buster Olney.
Dodgers continue to focus on high-end relievers, and Edwin Diaz would be a really good bet for them — if L.A. landed him, you can bet the Dodgers would have strong ideas about how to get him back in '18 mode. He's pitched better lately.

This is just a rumor, but it’s something worth looking into. The Dodgers bullpen has struggled this season, and they will be targeting top tier relief pitchers. There have been rumors that the Dodgers may look to trade Joc Pederson, along with a prospect. But, Pederson has been significant for Los Angeles, for the most part.
However, in the playoffs, it will be tough to keep Pederson in the lineup, because he tends to struggle against left-handed pitchers. The Dodgers do well against left-handed pitchers, for the most part. So, if trading Joc Pederson means acquiring Edwin Diaz, that will be a huge plus for them, in chase of a World Series Championship.
Diaz has struck out 35.5% of the batters he’s faced this season, and he has an ERA of 4.81. However, if the Dodgers offense continues dominating opposing pitchers, Diaz comes in to pitch in the eighth inning, and Jansen closes games out. The Dodgers will be in the driver’s seat for a World Series Championship.
The Dodgers could have Hyun-Jin Ryu, Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, and Rich Hill as the starting rotation in the playoffs. Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling, Edwin Diaz, Kenley Jansen, coming in from the bullpen; the Dodgers will be the favorites to win the World Series. The Dodgers should not trade too much during the trade deadline, but just enough to get bullpen help. Diaz would be a great addition to this team.
