Damico’s Depository: CFB Locks PLUS Week 7 College Football Game Picks

Givanni Damico | October 12th, 2019

Welcome back to my weekly college football game picks and locks! Last week, I went 7-3 on my locks (70.0% success rate for those who struggle with math). This week, I have selected eight games for Damico’s Depository segment of this article.

Central Michigan -10.5 vs. New Mexico State

New Mexico State has yet to win a game this year. Central Michigan upset Eastern Michigan last week (which resulted in one of my game picks being incorrect). Central Michigan should be able to handle NMSU with ease at home.

Florida State +27 at 2 Clemson

This may seem like a bold call since the game is in Death Valley, but Clemson hasn’t impressed on offense this week. With both Alex Hornibrook and the Slim Reaper, James Blackman, being viable options for FSU at quarterback, Clemson should always be on their toes. Clemson wins, but not by four touchdowns.

West Virginia +10 vs. Iowa State

This is like the California and Oregon line from last week. I don’t quite understand it. West Virginia is at home after a game in which they hung with Texas last week. Iowa State is nothing special on offense. West Virginia wins this game outright.

Virginia Tech -27.5  vs. Rhode Island

Virginia Tech just beat Miami, so they should be able to handle an FCS team that has gone 13-43 in their last 56 games with ease.

Florida International -5.5 vs. Charlotte

FIU has played more convincing football this year than Charlotte. Their wins have been better wins and their losses haven’t been as bad. FIU wins by a touchdown.

10 Penn State -3.5 at 17 Iowa

Penn State has played great on both sides of the ball this year. I’m almost convinced that this team might be for real. Iowa’s offense is horrible, but their defense is elite. This is a low-scoring game with Penn State coming on top 20-6.

Arkansas +7 at Kentucky

Arkansas nearly upset Texas A&M last week. They have played solid football, while Kentucky has struggled massively. Sawyer Smith, their quarterback, was ranked dead last on a list of FBS quarterbacks in the country that I saw. Arkansas wins outright.

Mississippi State -6.5 at Tennessee

Tennessee is just an awful football program right now. They looked a little bit better last week with a new quarterback, but I don’t think that makes a difference against Mississippi State. State barely covers, winning by 7.

Now we are on to my game picks for each and every Saturday game

Current Picking Record: 214-70 (.754)

Last Week: 28-15 (Worst week yet)

6 Oklahoma -10.5 at 11 Texas

My Pick: Oklahoma

Oklahoma is 6-3 in the last nine games of the Red River Showdown. Jalen Hurts has been great this year and I fully expect Oklahoma to handle Texas. HORNS DOWN!

10 Penn State -3.5 at 17 Iowa

My Pick: Penn State

Iowa’s offense just isn’t good enough to hang with Penn State.

7 Florida at 5 LSU -13.5

My Pick: LSU

Kyle Trask escaped with a win last week against Auburn, but this week will be much different. Joe Burrow has played well this year and LSU has been more consistent.
