Dallas Cowboys Place Exclusive Tag on Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys have placed an exclusive franchise tag on franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.

The exclusive tag prevents other teams from signing him.

There was much discussion throughout the season as to whether owner Jerry Jones would sign Prescott long-term as Prescott was demanding close to $40 million a year in an extension. Now, all of that can be put to rest (at least, for the moment) as Prescott is under contract for 2020.

Prescott was drafted with Ezekiel Elliott in 2016 and they turned into a dynamic duo. Prescott stole Rookie of the Year from Elliott that season. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2018. He has been a bit shaky but still has a respectable 40-24 record in his career. Last season, he threw for 4,902 yards with 30 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a passer rating of 99.7.
