Manchester United’s first game with Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t have been more brilliant. A 4-1 win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford was the perfect way for the Red Devils to continue Premier League play following the international break. Manchester United sits comfortably in the Premier League standings with three wins and one draw. On Tuesday, they play their first Champions League match of the season.

The results in Ronaldo’s return were excellent. Ronaldo scored two phenomenal goals and his Portuguese compatriot Bruno Fernandes scored a brilliant goal of his own. In addition, Jesse Lingard added another goal during injury time. In addition, Paul Pogba provided two assists. The main key from this match was simply the ability of scoring goals with assists. In other words, the Red Devils showed great teamwork and had a winning mentality.

What Lies Ahead

The Red Devils have a challenging schedule coming up after their first Champions League group match. In the coming weeks, Manchester United is to take on the likes of West Ham United and Aston Villa before playing their second Champions League group match on the 29th of this month. In October, The Red Devils will play a home game against Liverpool before going on the road to take on Tottenham. Manchester United is determined to keep winning Premier League matches, as well as dominate in the Champions League. Considering all the talent the team has, there’s no excuse for them to not finish with positive results. Losing is not an option.

The players now have a leader they not only look up to but a leader they trust. Lack of leadership and motivation has been a problem for the Red Devils for a long time. The addition of Ronaldo can very well be the cure for that problem.
